By David Bohn
Introduction
David Bohn of Redding, CT, has worked at Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation for more than 25 years and now serves as the company’s president. Outside of his professional activities, David Bohn dedicates his time and resources to a number of organizations, including the American Heart Association.
As part of its community outreach work, the American Heart Association oversees several educational programs and fundraising events that are implemented in schools across the country.
Jump Rope For Heart
One of the organization’s main school programs is Jump Rope For Heart, which develops students’ jump rope skills and teaches them how to take care of their cardiovascular health while they raise money for the American Heart Association.
First launched nearly 35 years ago, the program is sponsored nationally by Subway restaurants and is delivered in partnership with SHAPE (Society of Health and Professional Educators) America, a national organization that promotes an active, healthy lifestyle. Since Jump Rope For Heart was first founded, the program has taught millions of students the importance of their heart and has helped the American Heart Association continue its lifesaving work.
