Think You May Be Experiencing

ABOUTDomestic violence — whether it be physical or verbal — may

occur with or without any warning at all.

As Isabell Agumbah is aware, you may not realize that you are

in a abusive relationship until it is too late to get out.

That’s why it is so important to be aware of the “red flags” that

can serve as warnings that abuse may occur in the near future.

Initially your partner may not show any signs of abusiveness

toward you as they exhibit an often exaggerated charm, but as

time goes on, major cracks begin to show.

I f you answer, "Yes," to one or more of them, you may be in an abusive re lat ionship.

Answer these questions:

Does your partner tease you in hurtful ways or call you demeaning names?

Does your partner get jealous of your friends, family, or co-workers?

Have you lost your friends or no longer see family because of your partner?

Does your partner get angry with you over the clothes you wear, how you style

your hair, etc.?

Does your partner blame you for his/her personal problems or bad mood?

Does your partner threaten to hurt you or others?
