From taking photos at events to reviewing research funding applications, our volunteers do all sorts of things to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s.

Your task

Volunteer educators – talk about Parkinson’sto staff in nursing and care homes.

Event volunteers – help with everything from marathonsto concerts. They might be marshals, run the registrationdesk or hand out water to participants.

Telephone peer support volunteers – talk to people withParkinson’s and carers on the phone who have a similarexperience of the condition.

Regional fundraising volunteers – raise money forParkinson’s UK in their local area. They might organisea collection or talk at a Rotary Group.

Research Support Network volunteers – review grant applicationsfor research into Parkinson’s. They also organise events so morepeople can learn about research into the condition, and some haveeven represented Parkinson’s UK at international conferences.

Our local network of branches and groups – provide people affectedby Parkinson’s with friendship, support and the opportunity to meetothers in similar situations. Some also offer singing, exercise classes,outings and other therapeutic and social activities.
