Visiting the Historic Hoover DamDid you know the Hoover Dam is just 35 miles south of Las Vegas? This national historic landmark is named one of the Top 10 Construction Achievements of the 20th Century.

The dam (named after America’s 31st president Herbert Hoover) played a large role in bringing the nearby states into agreement about water allocations, settling a 25-year controversy.

The Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge which was completed in October 2010, offers spectacular views that were once only available by helicopter. Visitors can cross the Navad-Arizona border by taking the 1,900- foot long bridge.

Zip Across Freemont StreetIf you’re looking for a thrill a little closer to the strip, then be sure to check out Zip Lining on Freemont Street in downtown Las Vegas. Fremont Street Flightlinez offers the perfect adrenaline rush for those who don’t gamble.

It starts at the parking garage of the Neonopolis Entertainment Complex and ends at the front door of the Four Queens Casino.

Adrenaline Rides at The Top of The StratosphereFor a thrill right on the strip, be sure to check out the rides at the Stratosphere. The Stratosphere tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and features one of the most exciting attractions at a Vegas resort.

There’s the Sky Jump Las Vegas which is a controlled free fall that sends you jumping off the 108th floor, that’s right…108th!!

Other rides include the Insanity which extends 64 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere and spins you and other passengers at high speeds while you’re propelled up to a 70-degree angle. The X-Scream propels riders headfirst 27 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere, and the Big Shot catapults 16 riders 160 feet in the air at 45 miles per hour.
