Name : - Mast. Anas Salmani.

Age at first examination 8 months , at

operation 14 months.

History:

1. Cataract both eyes detected since birth.

2. Child was detected with severe anemia.

3. Pre mature child (7 months delivery).

4. Child had severe upper respiratory

infection.

Diagnosis at Rushabh :-

• Child visited at our center on 3rd Sep,2012 and was diagnosed with

both eyes mature cataract .

• Both eyes he had poor light fixation.

• Patient underwent complete eye check up , both eyes sonography

scan was done. Reports showed no evidence of Retina Detachment.

• After detail explanation to the family about the post operative

results and care , child was advised surgery for the same.

• Patient was lost follow up for next 6 months.

Cataract Surgery at Rushabh :-

• After pathological, pediatric and

cardiac fitness for surgery.

• Mast. Anas underwent bilateral

congenital cataract extraction

(Anterior capsulo-rhexis with post

capsulo-rhexis with Anterior

Vitrectomy )on 18th Feb,2013, under

general Anesthesia under guarded

visual prognosis.

• Child was kept Aphakic.

Post Operative at Rushabh :-

• On 19th Feb,2013 dressing was done

and on examination his eyes were

quiet, fundus was normal.

• He was advised to use eye drops and

all oral antibiotic medications

prescribed by his Pediatric Doctor.

• Post operative care was explained to

family and regular follow up was

advised.

One week post surgery :-

• A week after surgery his eye examination was done under short

GA.

• On examination his visual axis was was clear, Eye was quiet, his

Intraocular pressure were 10 mm in both eyes, Fundus was normal

cycloplegic retinoscopy was done.

• After cycloplegic retinoscopy child has been given +13.00 D to wear.

• We will insert IOL after the child will turn 24 months.

• The Child is following objects , is very playful and happy.
