When Women Experience Bloating

❖ Many women experience bloating not only during their menstrual cycle, but throughout the rest of the month as well. But this bloating feels a little different, and fortunately there is something you can do to clear out any H2O retention.

Drink more water

❖ Although it sounds odd to put into your body exactly what you want to get rid of, this is actually a key factor to reducing the water weight.

❖ Water keeps you hydrated and is the only fluid that fully allows you to purge the extra sodium.

❖ Staying away from caffeine and alcohol is imperative (and most commonly, carbonated drinks, since these fizzy bubbles are often a major cause of bloating).

Cut out excess sodium (and sugar)

❖ Salty foods can cause the body to hold on to any fluids that you consume, and furthermore, your kidneys hold onto the water that is in your body.

❖ Too much sugar causes your body to produce too much insulin, which ultimately doesn’t allow your body to get rid of the extra salt.

❖ Try to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet.

Start sweating

❖ While perspiring may not be the most pleasant thing to experience, exercise and excretion of sweat is a great way to rid your body of extra water weight.

❖ Not only will your body sweat out any additional water, but it will also sweat away the extra sodium as well.

❖ Incorporating exercise into your daily routine is a great way to reduce that bloat.

Be cautious of diuretics

❖ If you’re using this method to try to get rid of water retention, start slowly.

❖ Cranberry juice or lemon in warm water (twice a day) is a great way to begin.

❖ Many people use caffeine as a way to get rid of water weight, but in actuality, you can lose iron and calcium if you drink too much, so this is not a recommended method of losing H2O retention.
