May be long and descriptive
Usually short and summarized
May be more than a couple of pages
Hardly ever more than 2 pages
Contains many categories and subcategories
No need for sub-categorization
Can include anything one has ever done even if not directly relevant
Usually focused and contains only relevant information
Emphasis on educational, academic and research background
Emphasis on professional and job experience
A cover letter / personal statement / letter of intent is usually requested too
Sometimes a cover letter is attached. Objectives list usually substitute
