encourage a more fruit/grain/vegetable based diet for everyoneOf course everyone has a choice about what they eat, but parents and teachers should

encourage conversation about what kids are eating and how these eating habits are contributing to and exacerbating global warming and hunger.

America needs to stop the cycle of teaching their children poor eating habits, they are not sustainable and totally unhealthy

It's no use feeding people, if you're feeding them food that contributes to ill health, unhealthy citizens are expensive!

More veggies= lower cholesterol

Less meat= cheaper to eat predominantly vegetables (Two birds one stone....although no birds were harmed in the making of this presentation)

The idea is sustainability...a vegetarian/mostly vegetarian diet is far more sustainable than a diet which consists of too much meat.

"If each American reduced his or her meat consumption by only 5 percent, roughly equivalent to eating one less dish of meat each week, 7.5 million tons of grain would be

saved, enough to feed 25 million people-roughly the number estimated to go hungry in the United States each day."

MY PROPOSAL

•To encourage everyone to consume 20% less meat every week.

•Begin ad campaigns targeted specifically at different age groups...these ads would encourage everyone to cut out one or two days of meat consumption a week.

• The ads would perhaps show viewers how to prepare delicious vegetarian meals.

• Companies who sell vegetables would surely back such a venture.

•Get celebrity vegetarians to back this idea.

• If people gave up eating just a little of the meat they consume every week, it could make a HUGE impact on the world.

• Companies could sponsor vegetarian food contests nationally

• Ask FOODTV to encourage chefs to cook vegetarian meals two days a week

Something has to change. Let’s start with our diet.

Such a small sacrifice for such major change.
