“Vector Control is the Main Attack Weapon for Reducing Malaria Transmission”
Roll Back Malaria 2008
World Health Organization, 2011• “Vector control is the primary public health
intervention for reducing malaria transmission at the community level.”
• “It is the only intervention that can reduce malaria transmission from very high levels to close to zero.”
Mnzava et al. 1993
Impact of Mosquitoes and Flies
• Malaria has killed more people than all wars combined• A child dies every 30 seconds from malaria• Dengue virus, carried by mosquitoes, kills many children in
Asia and Latin America• Diarrheal diseases, many carried by flies, kill millions of
people• Over 50% of the resources of the Methodist Churches in
Kenya , combined, goes to preventing and treating malaria– imagine if these resources were free for other uses
Jesus used healing to reach individuals and to reach large populations with his message
Mark 3• 4And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath
days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
• 5And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
• 10 For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him
MEVLABS, Inc. and ProVector LLC
• Our Mission is to develop inexpensive and effective products to improve the health of others
• Providing public health tools supports mission outreach• James 2:16 - And one of you say unto them, Depart in
peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?
Entobac and Entobac D are safe and ecofriendly pesticides used in traps to reduce
mosquitoes and flies• Netty – reduces mosquitoes and flies• ProVector – reduces mosquitoes• Biter Fighter Tube – reduces mosquitoes and
flies
We gather mosquito data through collection and surveys
• In Nyelanda, Kenya we collected 277 mosquitoes in 5 minutes from one home
• Trapping mosquitoes in the D.R. has provided valuable information on area control
Before ProVector Bt was deployed After ProVector Bt was deployed
Children in Nyelanda Kenya near Lake Victoria have some of the highest rate of malaria deaths
Feedback on the Effectiveness of Entobac has been positive from missionaries participating in
ProVector Community Projects

• Success with ProVector in Algodon, DR• COTN then expanded the ProVector Community
Project to 2 more villages
ProVector is being used in the Kibera Slums in Nairobi, Kenya
Field trials in Kibera Slums, Nairobi were conducted by Riziki Kenya Foundation
We developed a longer lasting Entobac Bait Pad as a result of this study
