SMART GOALFinal presentation: Marni R Balint

SMART Goal Specific: My specific goal is to be more physically fit, and to lose excess fat, in a healthy

manner. By exercising and creating healthier eating habits. I would like to be able to run 2 miles without stopping by the end of the 7 weeks.

Measurable: Try and run a little farther each time, and taking shorter breaks of walking

in between; also measuring the progress on flexibility and strength with stretching. So this means waking up a half an hour to 45 minutes earlier to do a morning run and stretch. Also to start the day by eating healthier to set the pace for the rest of the day.

Attainable: This attainable by just setting my alarm earlier and getting the motivation

by making the decision the night before to eat healthier and to go running. Also, if need be going to bed a half and hour earlier to be able to get up in the morning.

Realistic: This goal is realistic because I’m starting out fairly simple and then increasing my rates and ability by slowly increasing into a steady healthy pace of exercising and eating.

Timely: I want to be able to run two miles by the end of the seven weeks, so it means

measuring out how far I need to run each time to be able to attain this. I feel like it highly possible. And plus winter is coming fast so I won’t be able to run outside much longer.

Steps of Achievement:

The reasons I chose this goal: - To try and create healthier habits - To be happier with myself - To use trial and error without giving up - To become less addicted to food - To be more physical active

Steps to Accomplishment!

The main factors for success for me: - I have learned that the more friends and

family I have supporting me on this the better I will do!

My Process:

There were several things I noticed when doing this project:

- There were a couple of weeks it was near impossible for me to do anything extra except homework and sleep (I’m was in a couple of shows and had several large projects)

- I peaked for about a week and a half – neither improving my running skill or got worse

- I enjoyed being able to tell people what I was doing

Results!

I was impressed that I improved – because it has taken me a while to get to this stage.

It was harder for me because of my schedule and many other conflicts that came up.

I enjoyed trying to see what worked and didn’t.I plan to continue to see what else I can gather from my

trial and error on this project.I felt I could have done better at accomplishing my goal,

but I like that this project was not due at the end of the semester – because now I can assess where I am and continue on from there. It was at a good point for me to self evaluate myself and I plan to make several improvements! I am very excited to do so!
