Nicole DeBaggis 2013-2014 Academic Year Goal Implementation Evidence/Observation/Reflection Goal : Every two weeks, students will complete a vocabulary/spelling unit. Within the two weeks, they will: Improve their vocabulary and spelling as measured by an increase of 10% in vocabulary/spelling quiz scores from November 1, 2013 to the end of Term 4. Implementation : Throughout the two week period, students will take part in activities to prepare for the vocabulary/spelling assessment. These activities include: 1) Creation of vocabulary flashcards or study guide 2) Completion of a vocabulary packet with 5 exercises built to improve students' knowledge of the vocabulary words 3) 2 spelling pretests, with peer editing 4) Word Wall activity Part 1 (students are to work as a group to place the correct vocabulary word under the correct part of speech) 5) Word Wall activity Part 2 (students are to create original sentences using the given vocabulary words appropriately according to definition and part of speech and post it on Word Wall)

Within the goal period, there were 8 vocabulary unites completed.

***The units were developed to be completed in a two week period. However, some units were longer, or there were gaps in between units that were longer than anticipated based on scheduling and/or attendance issues.
