This media company is European based, and are currently based in Germany.

Since being founded in 1875 they have a portfolio of over 600 magazines to their name, as well as 400 digital products and running around 50 radio/tv stations.

Meaning that they offer services such as:

- Printing

- Postage

- Distribution

- Various marketing services

They are Britain's third largest

publisher

Similarities to my magazine

As my magazine is the same genre as some of the Bauer Media distributions like Q and Kerrang as we are all aiming for a teenager/young adult audience, with those who are interested in the alternative rock genre. I don’t believe that Bauer would actually take on Acid face, despite the decision not to take on Acid Face would mean that I am therefore going to be apart of their competitors, because they already are very successful in the selection that they offer their audience, so to take on my magazine would be a risk as it is not already established and would mean the company would have to spend a large amount of money to highly promote my magazine to get a similar amount of sales that Kerrang and Q would initially get.

IPC was founded 49 years ago and they are currently based in London, United Kingdom.

Their own portfolio consists of selling around 350 million copies of their products every year. Their media portfolio is very varied and offers something for everyone varying from music magazines, to sport magazines.

Similarities to my magazine

When considering that IPC MEDIA are distributing a large amount of magazines, which include music magazines of a similar genre to mine – It is evident that I would want them to publish my magazine, as I have taken inspiration from their magazines, such as the fact that my magazine’s contents page as well as my double page spread is based on one of NME’s double page spreads that features a very distressed look.

It is likely that they may consider my magazine, due to the fact that if my magazine was then distributed by another company that they would then have to be in competition with ‘Acid Face’ and as well by adding my into their productions they then they introduce another music magazine to their collection/portfolio.
