The most widely used Internet-base communication tool is e-mail. The term e-mail refers to electronic mail. It is a communication system that sends and receives messages through the internet. E-mails are handled by mail servers. Many mail servers are available such as Yahoo,Gmail,Hotmail,Rediffmail,etc.

The Internet provides the facility of sending e-greetings to friends and relatives quickly without spending money. Many free online greeting card Websites are available.

Chatting or instant messaging is another online communication tool that is commonly used. It allows two or more people to send and receive messages at the same time. This facility comes along with the e-mail account. Yahoo provides an instant messaging tool or chat called Yahoo messenger and Google provides Google talk.

It is a group where people interact through the internet-based communication tools such as chat or instant messaging, e-mail, discussion groups and blogs. It is used for connecting various groups together. Some examples are facebook, orkut, twitter, etc.

Video sharing refers to websites in which users can upload their video clips. They are stored on the internet and can be viewed by anyone any number of times. Some examples are Google video and Youtube

Photo sharing is the publishing or transfer of a user's digital photos online, thus enabling the user to share them with others. This function is provided through both websites and applications that facilitate the upload and display of images.
