After the fall 2016 couture shows during the firstweek of July in cities ranging from Paris to Rome,certain 1940’s styles have definitely made acomeback this upcoming autumn.Certain techniques that also stem from the 1940sera include various forms of featherwork andstunning floral embellishments that definitelyhighlight old school elegance. Here are the top 5trends that made their way onto the runway andhopefully in your shopping bag.

EmpireWaist

Fashion giants such as Fendi and Dolce & Gabbanahave both reinstated the empire high-waistedstyle in many of the dresses. Empire is a fittedbodice ending just below the bust, giving a high-waisted appearance, and a gathered skirt whichoffers somewhat flowy appeal to the outfit.These showcased dresses often had sheer layersof fabric, in addition to lace and gold or silvercolored sequins.
