The boxer was bred to have an under bite, this made them have an extra good grip of what they are holding on to

Boxers are not good swimmers, first of all they don’t have webbed feet and they are so top heavy that it is hard to keep balance in the water.

The boxer comes in white, fawn, brindle, and a darker fawn color, there is really no reason of why they are this color. Sometimes the white boxers can be born with no hearing or they could be blind

In the picture above the boxers ears are floppy, but you can get a boxers ears cropped, they did this when they were guard dogs or police dogs to give them a extra tough look. (This is what one looks like)

Boxer dogs were bred to have a pretty good sense of smell, so if they were used for a police dog or a guard dog they could smell ever footstep that a person took.

The boxer will do ok in an apartment, but you need to make sure you take them on long walks.

The boxer will do best if you have a space were they can run around.

After the age of 8, the boxer is more prone to getting cancer.

The boxer is also known for getting hip dysplasia, and heart problems.

The boxer has a very short coat, and they only have one layer of fur, so you would only have to give them a bath every 3-4 weeks, and you wouldn’t have to take much time grooming them either.

The boxer has a very compact and muscular body, so they could run or pull hard

The muzzle on a boxer is short and blunt, for a tougher look.

Most boxer dog tails are cropped, but some people want to leave the full tail on, they also cropped the tail to make them look tougher.

Today boxers are regular house dogs, to cheer people up

In the early 1900’s they were work dogs, they would work on farms herding animals, hunting, pulling wagons, catching wild ducks, and rescue dogs

The also were used for police dogs, guard dogs, and fighting dogs

They did not actually bring the dog over to the United States, they started breading them in the United States, because they were great guard dogs, and great working dogs.
