Wardrobe Tips• Wear clothing that is both comfortable and practical. • You don’t want to feel constricted, but you also don’t want to

have to adjust your outfit every time you change positions. • I recommend form fitting stretchy fabrics • Bring layers for the warm up and cool down. • Don’t forget to bring clean clothes to change into once you

leave the studio.

Breathe• Focusing on your breath helps to establish a mind body

connection, maintain proper form and get rid of any anxieties.• A good yoga instructor will always be mindful of breathing and

constantly bring the focus back to your inhales and exhales.• If you ever need to take a break from your practice, go into an

appropriate position and focus on your breath.

Be Kind and Take Your Time

• Don’t compete with others.• Focus on proper form - don’t stretch yourself to breaking

point.• Ease into your practice.• Don’t burn out early.• Listen to your body.• Do what feels good.• Pace yourself. • Yoga is a practice, there is not “perfect”

Come Back!

• Try different practices and different teachers, but be consistent.

• Once you find a class that you like, make sure that you return.• The first class is new and unfamiliar, with continued practice

you will relax into it.
