For our radio advert, we have chosen to broadcast on Capital FM, a commercial radio channel. The station plays Top 40 hits and is aimed at an

audience of 15-34 year olds. The percentage of female listeners is 57% meaning that their listeners directly correlate with our target audience. Capital has 10 independent radio stations across the country, covering

different areas and meaning that the total amount of listeners is 7.3 million.

‘Capital's listeners are huge fans of the world of popular music entertainment. They are media savvy, on trend and use Capital to be the first of their mates 'in the know' on the very latest glamour, glitz and

gossip.’

For the audience of Capital FM, there are a number of different platforms to listen on. This is particularly convenient due to the young and digital native nature of our

audience who have access to converged devices and therefore stray away from traditional platforms on which to receive information.

The Capital FM app which is available for Andriod, iPhone and Windows phone has already had nearly 5 million downloads meaning that this is a very popular and

convenient way for the audience to listen. Alongside this, the internet is another platform which is widely used by our target audience and therefore increases the

suitability of the station to advertise on.
