As we approach the tenth anniversary of the terrorist

attacks of September 11, 2001, the Radio Television

Digital News Foundation pauses to honor the journal-

ists who covered the attacks and their aftermath,

honoring their courage to serve the people’s right to

know, despite great personal risk. Through the

actions of those journalists, the people of America

were able to follow the events as they happened and

stay informed so that they could remain safe, find out

about the wellbeing of loved ones, and follow the

government’s reaction to the crisis. These journalists

were there to provide the information essential to keep

Americans connected to the crisis.

History — you reported it. And believe it or not, we were there for nearly every minute of it, dating back to 1907. So much has changed since, but our core values remain the same: Efficiency. Honesty. Service. Just likeyou, we know a thing or two about deadlines.
