magazine convinces readers
that it is worth buying there

the colour of the skyline is
also pink which makes it
stand out. Also by putting the
word ‘Free’ in different colour
writing makes it stand out
and also catch the readers

magazine has chosen
Britney as its main
image; this will make
the readers feel more
persuaded to buy the
magazine as it is
someone that they
recognise. By choosing
a well-known
performers readers
feel more tempted to
buy the magazine.
Teasers: the magazine

this persuades the
reader to buy the
magazine as it boosts
the magazines image.

star!’ having this on
the front cover
tempts the reader to
buy the magazine as
they would have a
chance of winning
something.

magazine as well as
the picture, because

off a well know artist

there is gossip which
the reader could see.
Also the type of
language they use is
quite a chatty tone
which shows that it is
relating to more of a
younger teenage
audience, also by
putting the writing in
pink and white shows
again that it relates to
a girls audience rather
than a boys.
Graphic feature: Once again by using a well know
artist such as Eminem it will attract the target
audience to buy the magazine. Also by using more
chatty language such as ‘(Bleep)-ing interview’
shows that teenagers would be more interested in
buying the magazine as it is easy reading.
Masthead: The masthead of this magazines stands out to the
audience as it is clear and bold and easy to read. To name the
magazine ‘We (heart) love pop’ is trying to convince the audience that
they love the magazine before they try and buy it. By having a love
heart to represent a word shows that it related to young teenagers
and by having it in pink it related to mostly girls. The masthead on this
page also stands out to the rest of the magazine because it is put in a
speech bubble.
Slogan: This magazines
uses a slogan of ‘Don’t
bore us. Get to the
chorus’ this shows that it
related to our target
audience of teenagers as
it is using very chatty
language, and also using
language that teenagers
would say. By saying ‘Get
to the chorus’ this shows
that it fits in with there
music magazine of pop.
Teasers/ puff : ‘Actually Amazing Mag!’ by saying
actually amazing mag this is tempting the reader to
buy the magazine as they would feel if they didn’t
that they would be missing out on the ‘Amazing’
magazine.
Central image: This
magazine has chosen to put
Rihanna on there front
cover, by choosing
someone as famous as
Rihanna this helps bring in
the readers as they will be
tempted to read what the
story is about by knowing
the person on the front.
The picture taken also
shows that she has lots of
attitude, which again
related to teenagers.
Graphic features: By
having ‘Harry styles’ on
the front cover as a
graphic feature will bring
in the readers as most
teenagers girls would be
interested in him. Also
by having ‘Harry styles is
yours for £50’ shows
that this graphic feature
is also being used as a
teaser to draw people in
to buying the magazine.
Graphic features: By having JLS posters for offer on the magazine
will attract the target audience of young teenagers girls in as most
of them would fancy JLS meaning they would feel tempted to buy
the magazine.

about fashion on the
magazine will intrigue
readers in to buy the
magazine as they
would feel they are
gaining something
back from it.
Masthead: The masthead of this
magazines stands out to an audience,
the colour of pink will grab the target
audience’s attention and it is also
very clear to read. By making the
masthead have a sparkly effect it also
shows the type of target audience
that this magazine is aiming at (girl
teenagers). The masthead of this
magazine also makes it clear to the
audience what genre the magazine s
focusing on ‘top of the pops’.

having major

front this will bring in
readers as they will be
more interested in the
celebrates they know.
Central image: Once again
by having a celebrity on the
front cover this tempts
people to buy the magazine
as they want to find out the
story with the picture. Also
by having a girl on the front
cover give the teenagers
idols for people to look up
to.
Plugs: ‘your most embarrassing body
worries solved’- by having this on the front
cover interests young teenager girls as
appearance is a big issue as a teenager so
by putting this on the front cover will
interest them to buy the magazine to read
the whole article. Also by having the plug
in bright pink makes it stand out to the
rest of the magazine.
Masthead: This magazine masthead doesn’t
stand out to the other magazines, but still they
are using colours which represent the genre of
the magazine e.g. purple. The masthead of this
magazine stands out on the cover of the
magazine and is also very recognisable for the
target audience to recognise.
Central image: the central image stands out to an
audience as they have chosen a celebrity which
most of the target audience would look up to, and
also a lot of people would recognise ‘Miley Cyrus’
so this would interest people in buying the
magazine.
Plugs: ‘Miley Cyrus- The
Queen of Teen Grows Up.
Will Her Fans Follow?’ by
having this plug nearly as
bold as the tittle means it
will catch people’s
attention when looking at
the magazine.
Plug: ‘Glee, the rolling stones…’ by having
popular pop bands on the front cover will
tempt the reader to buy the magazine as they
will be interested to see what’s written about
them.

attract the reader to buy

they will think they have a

title will mean it will be

people will look at.

audience as they would

the front cover will tempt the
target audience as they will feel as
they are getting something out of
the magazine, also by having the
graphic features with this will also
help tempt the audience as if they
see a celebrity they like they will
be more tempted to buy the
magazine.
Plug/Buzzword: ‘Secret behind-the-scenes action! –by
writing the plug like this will attract the target
audience as they will be finding out exclusive gossip,
the plug is also written in friendly, chatty language.
Graphic feature: The graphic features are used to make it clear for the
audience which page number the picture relates too. There are a lot
of graphic features used on this page compared to any other page,
this also makes it easier for the target audience to see the
information on the page and also get tempted by the celebrities they
see. The pictures used also relate to the target audience by being
colourful, bold and also the expressions used in each picture.
Layout: the layout of the contents page is very clear for the target
audience to see what information is on each page. Overall the
page is colourful and set out in a clear and easy way. The colours
used also represent the target audience and this will also attract
the readers in. Also the colours of the magazine all link in which
make the page look inviting to the reader.
Callout: the quotes
used on this page

use a fun clear font, and also include
hearts over the page, this relates to the
target audience by showing that they
are girly and also shows they are teens
by using pictures such as hearts as
words.
Header: the header used on the magazine is clear for the
audience that it is the contents page and also the font and
colours used show the target audience, for example by
using pink shows that the target audience is related to girls.
Graphic features: the main graphic feature on
this page is a boy group, which again shows the
target audience as they would be most
interested to see about there favourite boy
group.

target audience of young teenage girls

Flash: in this contents page they use a flash at the bottom of the page by putting posters up which are in the
magazine, this will then convince the reader to either buy the magazine or to go to the pages where the
magazine is.
This double page spread will suit the target audience by having two boys from a boy band
on there, as the target audience is young teenage girls this will attract them to the page as
they will be interested in there favourite boy band.
The colours used make the pages easy to read and very clear.
By Using quotes as a flash make the page look more inviting for the reader and also first
make it clear about roughly what the article is about.
This double page spread suits the music genre and the target audience by using colours,
which represent them such as pinks and yellows, these colours make the pages stand out and
look inviting.
The main image on this double page spread suits the target audience as it shows a young pop
star in fashionable clothes, and this would interest a young teenager as someone they can
look up to.
The writing on the page is set out clearly and not in big chunks, which makes it easier for the
target audience to read and digest.
This double page spread fits in with the target audience by using colours which would interest
them such as pinks and yellows they use these colours because the target audience is teenagers
girls and these colours represent quite happy emotions.
The header on this double page spread is very bold and clear and also quite wacky, by using a
different type of font. The header stands out from the rest of the page and makes it clear to the
reader what the article is about.
To help with making the article clear the graphic features and main image also help with this. The
pictures used show actions shots and fun pictures, the picture are all happy which again relates
to the target audience and the genre of music which is upbeat. The pictures on the page help
bring in readers as the target audience would be interested in reading about there favourite boy
band, and even if they didn’t know the band they would still be interested as the pictures would
bring them into the article.
The whole double page spread also relates to the target audience by having more pictures than
words, this makes the page more easy to digest and more fun for the readers. Which again
relates to the target audience as young teenage girls wouldn’t be too interested in reading a
large chunk of text.
The text used in the double page spread is very chatty and easy to understand which makes it
easy reading for the target audience.
