Professional Analysis of a Music Magazine Front Cover

For this task I have been asked to professionally analyse the codes and conventions of a music magazine front cover.

Sub Images

The images are either images of artists or bands.

Articles

Some articles are titled by the name of the band or artist.

Features

Features in a magazine are the things that are only in it for that issue. For example the magazine could have an exclusive interview with Noel Gallagher. This would be a one off and wouldn’t feature again maybe for another year or so.

Regular Content

Regular content is the things that appear in every issue of a music magazine, for example Top 50 countdowns, or fan mail or puffs, games and quizzes.

Columns

Magazine contents pages are set out in columns and they are then easy for the reader to read and understand the features and articles in the magazine.

A clear layout puts all of the features and articles into simple form and this draws the attention of the reader.
