SALMAN KHAN held “not guilty” of keeping an unlicensed weapon and use it during alleged deer hunt.

Bollywood star Salman Khan was liberated today in a case linked to the alleged killing of black buck 18 years ago. Salman Khan had supplicated “not guilty” to the charge of violating the law by keeping unlicensed weapons and using them.

Salman Khan arrived in Jodhpur on Tuesday evening with his sister Alveera and some advocates accompanying him.

After final comments and citations on Monday, Chief Judicial magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit reserved January 18 for delivering the judgement in the case. If Salman found guilty, he will receive a minimum sentence of one year.

The case involves the alleged killing of a deer when Salman Khan was shooting for his film with co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu in the forests near Jodhpur in 1998.

Salman has faced multiple cases over the years for killing two chinkaras and two black bucks on three hunts. In 2007, Salman Khan spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail.

Salman Khan’s lawyer has argued that he was only carrying air guns and there was no evidence that he was carrying firearms. Salman Khan also said that he was framed.

During the arguments, while the defence had argued that khan was framed by the forest department, the prosecution had argued that there were adequate evidence against Salman Khan for use and possessions of the arms with expired license.

Police had filed a case under sections 3/25 and 3/27 in October 1998, according to which, Salman Khan had kept the .32revolver and .22 rifle and used them during killing of two black bucks in village Kankani in Jodhpur on 1-2 October, 1998.

Out of the four cases against Salman Khan, he has been already acquitted in two cases of poaching by the high court while the third case is in its final stage. Maximum sentence in section 3/25 is 3 years while in Section 3/27 has 7 years as the maximum sentence.

In March ’16, the Bombay High Court suspended Salman’s five-year prison sentence in a hit and run case. He was convicted for killing a homeless man who was sleeping on the side of the road with his SUV on a drink night out in September 2002.

Salman Khan is one the most successful and popular star of the Bollywood Industry, and mostly his movies cross  “100 crore” Club.
