The impending Philippine presidential elections call for the youth’s political involvement. To ensure a promising future for good governance in politics, the interest and capacity of young people to

participate meaningfully in the elections and in the

political life of their communities, is a matter of critical importance. The following issues are worth exploring:

• What is the nature of the political interest and engagement among young people? • What are the youth’s insights concerning the electoral process and Philippine politics in

general? • How can youth participation in the elections be strengthened?
