DESCRIPTION
It starts with an overview of Water Issues facing Thailand in general, and Bangkok in particular, before diving deep into the reasons and impacty of water scarcity and pollution on the tourism and hospitality industry. It shows how poor water management can have an impact on the durability of the tourism industry in general, and how it has a direct negative impact both on unique biodiversity, as well as on local communities surrounding hotels in Thailand. In concludes with the importance of addressing water issue as a encompassing problem, by involving every staff in the hotel and by changing our old perception of water as a cheap and infinite natural resource. LightBlue Environmental Consulting's Managing Director, Benjamin Lephilibert, was giving this presentation at the KUONI Water Champion workshop in Bangkok on November 12th, 2014.
