The oldest-known winery was discovered in Armenia. Dated to c. 4100 BC, the site contained a wine press, fermentation vats, jars, and

cups.

When talking about wine in bible,the proverbs said of one particular

vintage that it "bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.“

Today we will look at 6 different wines we offer to our customers by

glass and by bottle.

Food pairingChardonnay – Sauvignon Blanc is a blend which, although not often talked about, is used extensively throughout the wine world. Both

Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc (which originate from Burgundy and the Loire respectively) are well-traveled varieties, which have been

welcomed by both Old World and New World winegrowers. While their most famous incarnations are single-variety wines, the two are often

combined to produce inexpensive table wine.

AOC Blend from Côtes du Rhône region. Grenache noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignane, Counoise and Mourvèdre grapes varieties.

Red must contain a minimum of 15% Syrah.Minimum alcohol content of 11%.

Pinotage

Red wine grape that is South Africa's signature variety.

It was bred there in 1925 as a cross betweenDream come true for Africa wine making.

It typically produces deep red varietal wines with smoky, bramble and earthy flavours, sometimes with notes of bananas and tropical fruit, but has

been criticized for sometimes smelling of acetone.

Pinotage is often blended, and also made into fortified wine and even red sparkling wine.In addition to South Africa, Pinotage is also

grown in Brazil, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, United States and Zimbabwe.

More informationThe idea of the name for this unusual name was created by the wine

owner and his friend while having a coffee in New York. They were looking for unusual expression for wine with deep mocha and coffee

bean flavour. This flavour is delivered from French Oak.The winery’s name is Mooiplaas and they produce environmentally

friendly wines in region of Stellenbosch.Tried different – The Coco Chocolate Merlot – Did not work.

Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the world's most widely recognized red wine grape

It is grown in nearly every major wine producing country among a diverse spectrum of climates

from Canada Okanagan to Lebanon.Originally from Bordeaux, France.

Famouse fo Bordeaux wines where it is often blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Quiet new wine.The classic profile of Cabernet Sauvignon tends

to be full-bodied wines with high tannins and noticeable acidity that contributes to the wine's

aging potential.Cooler climates - blackcurrant notes that can be accompanied by green bell pepper notes, mint

and cedar.Warmer climates - black cherry and black olives,

jams and marmalades.

oak barrels; the wines are concentrated but elegant. Production is limited to between just 500– 1000 cases per year and the wines have
