Survey Feedback : South Brooklyn
"Longer hours and more parking have to be top priority. You lose lots of people to CCPL because you close so early."
"Keep the trees!""Find ways to keep the noise down - important to be quiet for adults too. Keep order!"

EXTERNAL / NEIGHBORHOOD POSITIVES +
• Great location - central• Close proximity to schools• Old Brooklyn a great community• Supportive neighbors - collaborative• Lots of families, seniors - good blend of people• Good transit acces• Good recreation
Branch(ing) Conversations Feedback
INTERNAL / CPL BRANCH POSITIVES +
• Staff is great - go "above and beyond"• Two floors - spacious• Some parking• Safe place for kids• Welcoming, clean, inviting• Comfortable• Large meeting room• Great DVD collection
Branch(ing) Conversations Feedback
EXTERNAL / NEIGHBORHOOD NEGATIVES -
• Not enough parking• Crossing traffic (at Walgreens lot) is difficult• Feels dangerous• Not close enough to green spaces• Neighborhood wifi not strong/reliable enough• Billboard across from library distracting/ugly• Safety fears at night• Large geography for one branch - hard to access w/o car
Branch(ing) Conversations Feedback
INTERNAL / CPL BRANCH NEGATIVES -
• Doesn't"look"likelibrary-dated• Needs signage, lighting, facelift• Interior is boring - could use a "freshening" paint• Not enough computers• Not enough meeting rooms• Not enough kids' programming• Computer area gets loud after school• Concern that coffee shop would add to parking shortage• Concern that coffee shop would diminish size of collection• Meeting room access not well communicated• Needs a more secure bike rack• Too much information - streamline• Not enough "hang-out" space
In-House Youth Focus Group
Focus Group Feedback
POSITIVES +
• Good comic book collection• Staff is nice• Good location - walkable• Upstairs events• Good computer access - not always full• Nice and cool in summer
Focus Group Feedback
NEGATIVES -
• Not enough movies• Not open late enough at night• Not enough trees outside• No place to eat
Focus Group Feedback
SUGGESTIONS:

Summary: Recommendations
1. Expand programming & partnerships at branch & in community2. Give exterior a "facelift" - color, landscaping, signage, lighting - to become more of a community beacon3. Take advantage of triangular "front yard" to add value4. Reconfigure & refresh interior spaces/furniture5. Find opportunities for additional parking6. Add/expand bike rack7. Coordinate with RTA to improve the Transit Waiting Environment8. Explore extended hours or later access9. Explore supplemental locations throughout service area
