INTRODUCTION TO RETAIL MARKETING• Retail marketing is the range of activities

undertaken by a retailer to promote awareness and sales of the company’s products.

• This is different from other types of marketing because of the components of the retail trade, such as selling finished goods in small quantities to the consumer or end user, usually from a fixed location

• Retail marketing makes use of the common principles of the marketing mix, such as product, price, place and promotion.

MINI-MERTO CITY• A city is a relatively large and permanent human

settlement. In simple words we can say that a city has a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law.

• A mini-metro city combines the urban area and also little semi rural area. Mini-metro cities are the growing cities in the development area. Mini-metro cities usually form more recent poles of growth, often also with a more diffuse genealogy, than larger metropolis.

• In this 21st century, the mini-metro are making itself techno savy and developing themselves. Due to this many business man and investors think of investing in this city. Mini-metro cities are the growing hub for trade and commerce. The cities that come under this are Nagpur, pune, Indore, Surat etc.

NAGPUR CITY• Nagpur (Nagpur) is the second capital and the third most

populous city of the Indian state of Maharashtra It is the 13th most populous city and 13th largest urban agglomeration in India.

• According to a survey by ABP News Nagpur has been identified as the best city in India by topping the live ability, greenery, public transport, and health care indices.

• Nagpur has the best literacy rate,93.13%, among cities with more than 20 lakhs population in India. It is famous for the Nagpur Orange and is known as the "Orange City" for being a major trade centre of oranges cultivated in the region.

SHOPPING MALLS IN NAGPUR CITY

• Empress city mall is one of Nagpur’s largest

shopping mall with 9 lakh square feet.

• It features 100 shops and outlets.

• This township encompasses shopping mall with

multiplex, IT park ,commercial centers ,luxury

apartments and a five star hotel.

• They’re joined by major international retailers such as

Blackberry, Reliance trendz ,Gini and Jony,etc

• Nagpur is famous for its Orange production.

• Sweets- Most of the sweets and the Dessert items are

decorated with the orange pieces and the juice as the

fruit are available in abundance. Santra Barfi of

Nagpur is very popular and famous of the tourists

also.

• Spicy Chicken- It is very popular with the non-

vegetarian lovers of the city. This is very spicy which

can roll out some tears.

• Most of India’s popular brands are represented here

such as Pantaloons , Lifestyle , Big Bazar , etc.

DEVELOPMENT OF SHOPPING MALLS IN NAGPUR

• India has 570 operational malls (as of May 2013) with a total area of 180 million sq ft compared to just 225 malls that were up and running five years ago, according to numbers collated by a real estate consultancy firm which were shared with TOI exclusively.

• The retail sector in India is witnessing a huge revamping exercise as traditional markets make way for next formats such as departmental stores, hypermarkets, supermarkets and specialty stores.

• A Festive Walk in Empress City Mall. Empress City Mall is one of Nagpur’s larger shopping malls, featuring more than 100 shops and outlets. Aimed at a more mass market audience than some of the exclusive malls in Nagpur , most of India’s popular Brands are represented here, such as Pantaloons, Lifestyle, Big Bazar to name a few. • The other reason is our changing life style which is very

countries and cultures entered India and received

Disadvantages of Shopping Malls

• Occupancy cost are higher than those of strip centers, freestanding sites, most central business districts

• Retailers may not like mall managements control of their operations

• Strict rules governing store displays and signage

• Competition within shopping centers can be intense

• Similar merchandise sold in a close proximity

BENEFITS TO CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF SHOPPING MALLS

• There are multiple people to meet

• There is food

• We find everything needed at one stop

• We get to walk around

• There are lot of different events and offers

• Neat the weather and still shop

• There is always a place to sit down

• We do not always have to spend our money

• We always find something we like or want to buy
