All kids come to a point where they develop a voice of their own and a will for some independence. As they mature through adolescence, they find themselves out on their own and with friends more often, in dangerous situations. Help your teenager know about precautions they can take for such situations.

Many families have group plans for when fire breaks out, a storm hits home, or when intruder attempts a break-in. When your teenager is alone at home, anything can happen. Having a place to hide while the police or another supportive member can arrive is far from a bad idea.

Hire a security guard to watch over your teenager or the proximity where they'll be is a viable option. Serving as watchful sentry in your place, a guard can ensure their safety up close or from afar. This is useful for when your teenager commonly travels risk zones, such as to and from school, which you can schedule the guard around. Guards can also discourage illegal activities and ensure your teen is home safe in a timely manner.
