HOW TO SECURE A SECOND DATE

1. Be on time. That goes for ladies as well as men. Being late is just

rude. Don’t play games like the 15 minute rule.

2. Look and smell nice. That includes mints for your breath,

using deodorant, and not dousing yourself in Axe body spray or perfume.

5. Flip a compliment. Just one. For men, “you look nice” is

enough. For women, complimenting him on a “nice shirt” is enough. Keep

it cool.

6. Put the phone away. That means in a purse or pocket, not

laying on the table between you, where your eyes will keep sliding over to

it. Give your date the gift of your full attention.

7. Be you, but be the best version of you. Some people

Self-sabotage? Maybe.

10. Talk as well as listen. Be aware of talking about yourself

too much. Or maybe too little, which makes it hard to connect. Ask

questions, and find something in common.

11. Keep it light. Steer clear from conversations about money,

exes, your medical history, and things that make you angry. You don’t

your date what a nice polite person you are to service staff. Lots of

13. Show appreciation. Tell your date you’re having a good

time. Yes, actually say it. Men love it when women show appreciation for

the work they put into a date.

14. Be warm. It’s okay to be a little physical. Let the anticipation

build. Brush or squeeze an arm. Notice how your date reacts to being
