Unique consumer data underpins our proposition

Our market surveys explore consumers’ behavior and opinions, and go one step beyond to answer the question: “Why”?

The Commercial Broker Survey conducted by telephone in the first quarter of the 2014 reached 250 brokers, among which over 50% of premium income is derived from commercial insurance. Topics covered: business placement, rates, key issues, consolidation, and e-trading.

The SME Survey carried out in the second quarter is an online survey of micro-, small and medium-sized companies (2,000 covered in 2014 to increase industry sector analysis). Topics covered: product take-up, purchasing journey, key issues, broker relationships, and added value services.

The Consumer Survey scheduled for the end of the year will reach over 4,000 UK consumers online.

Topics covered: product take-up, purchasing journey, and attitudes to telematics, covering motor, home, pet, travel, gadget, home emergency, and extended warranty insurance.

FascinationsAt Datamonitor Financial, we’re fascinated by six core elements within the financial services market. These act as the threads that weave through our analysis, bringing color and topical trends to our market insight.

High Potential Markets Competition in traditional products and geographies is tougher than ever before. Where are the niches and unexploited opportunities that will be the next big thing?

Digital Disruption Technology facilitates and creates new markets. How can the financial services industry ensure these disrupting forces lead to opportunities rather than pitfalls?

The Mass Affluent How can you identify, target, and profit from this diverse and sought-after group? What makes these consumers different? Is it all about money?

The Empowered Consumer Many consumers have the confidence to drive their own financial decisions. How can the industry meet these complex needs while also engaging the disenfranchized?

Always On Always connected. Always plugged in. Consumers demand instant, all-encompassing access and information. Where does the financial services industry fit into this information-hungry world?

Life Event Targeting The clichéd consumer is dead. Long live diversity and choice, no longer dictated by age, gender, or stereotype. How can the industry segment and target without these predictable paths?
