DemographicsThe category's that I will be focussing on are C1 C2 D & E as the whole indie music scene and
lifestyle doesn’t appeal to the Upper classes as the whole indie scene isn’t based on prestigious brands and expensive items where as other music scenes will appeal to the upper classes such as
classical music.
What readers want from a magazine•Free content (CD’S discounts etc.)•Genre related interviews•Discount tickets •Regular competitions•Good Quality content
Magazine price £2.80-too low to be able to provide good prizes etc.
£6.50-too high for people of my social class to spend regularly (not within their expendable income range)
£3.99 priced high enough to provide good quality content and discount free item etc. whilst also not being too highly priced
I will adhere to the needs of my target market by providing suitable advertisements which appeal to the needs/wants of my market this won’t include expensive classy items such as expensive watches as this would not relate to my market and would be rendered useless however certain adverts such as clothing shops which stock my markets most favoured brands such as Fred Perry, Converse, Adidas and music shops which stock Guitars favoured by my markets top artists
I will also provide good quality content which they will enjoy reading about, I want to make my magazine stand out from the other magazines this will be a key selling point for my magazine
The social class table allows me to alter my feature stories to draw the right attention to my magazine for the target market that I want by basing my story’s around things relatable to the certain social class for example, Expensive Designer items won’t be advertised if my magazine was aimed towards the E category and vice versa
