The future is always an uncertain place. Nobody known what’s going to happen on any

particular day, month or year. But, it’s still something that has to be planned and

accounted for. The future of social media is far more turbulent than

almost any other sector within marketing. Going from its track record, the biggest properties

fizzle and burn the fastest once they’ve served their purpose or something better has come along.

So’ what do marketers have to worry about in the future of social media?

Already Facebook made a record breaking acquisition when it purchased the mobile messaging service for $ 19 billion earlier year.

Either way, it threatens to upset the balance of social media, cramming more of it into your mobile- and thus disrupting how marketers reach out to customers on social media.

Online advertising is already changing, morphing into something that’s all about providing a services to your potential customers or in sponsoring a post that they will probably read and then associate with your brand.

But as we move forward and major communications come through the likes of social media or instant messaging apps- as most personal traffic now is advertising will lose its effectiveness.

Instead advertisers will have to actively engage and produce content that gets shared and almost doesn’t seem like advertising at all.
