70% of engineering changes are due to DFX issues related to manufacturing, assembly,cost & quality.Adopting Design for eXcellence (DFX) guidelines upfront can reduce rework and improve time to market. Geometric DFX is a design validation application to address DFX challenges early during the product development phase. Users can simply import 3D CAD data in Geometric DFX and run DFX checks on it. It supports file formats from widely used CAD platforms such as CATIA®, Creo Parametric™, Inventor®, NX™, Soild Edge®, SolidWorks® as well as neutral formats like STEP/IGES Geometric DFX is powered by the DFMPro framework developed by Geometric. The ‘Out of the Box’ (OOTB) version comes prepackaged with design rules which take into account the various downstream issues related to the part or assembly design. The results of the analysis helps the designer to improve the design and avoid costly defects which would otherwise be detected much later in the product lifecycle
