Tongues of fire They were all anointed with

the Holy Ghost.

Peter preached Jesus, takentaken by the Jews and killedkilled by the Romans,

and raised upraised up by God to be Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we dowhat shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shallshall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the Promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Every man or woman must actmust act on his conviction -- on his faith.

Repent -- turnturn from a life of sin, unto Godunto God.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this unto-ward generation.

Israel had committed grievous singrievous sin:

Both rejectingrejecting and murderingmurdering their Messiah.

As a nationnation, they were in serious troubleserious trouble.

But individualsindividuals could be saved, by receivingreceiving the Gospel of Jesus and the Gospel of Jesus and askingasking God to save God to save.

41 Then they that gladly receivedgladly received his Wordhis Word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand soulsthree thousand souls.

God gavegave His Son, Jesus, to diedie for us,

Shedding His BloodBlood to wash away our sin.

Jesus dieddied on a Roman cross at the hands of wicked men, and was raisedraised the third day.

All who will repentwill repent and be baptizedbe baptized will be savedsaved and receive the gift of the Holy GhostHoly Ghost.

The church was off to a good start.

Wouldn't you have liked to have been there?

42 And they continued steadfastlycontinued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The truly born again willwill continue steadfastly.

In other words, they gathered togethergathered together to hear the Word of GodWord of God taught, to pray togetherpray together, and

to enjoy the fellowshipenjoy the fellowship of believers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Even the unbelieversunbelievers were amazed by the wonders and signs donedone by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

They thought Jesus would be right back.

They loved one another asas they loved the Lord;

They didn't want any distractionsdistractions.

46 And they, continuing dailydaily with one accordone accord in the temple, and breaking breadbreaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladnessgladness and singleness of singleness of heartheart, 47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church dailyadded to the church daily such as should be saved.

A happy church will be a soul-winning church.

John 15 (Jesus) 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
