Leaders are Optimistic

Leaders are Optimistic

For a Congregation to Grow – We need Optimism

1. We can do it!2. We must all do our part,

Ephesians 2:19-22.3. We need leaders who will lead.

Pro 29:18 KJV Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

1. King Artaxerxes was a powerful man.2. One literally risked their life coming before the

king in a bad mood.3. Artaxerxes noticed the difference in Nehemiah.

Leaders must OVERCOME FEAR

Leaders must OVERCOME FEAR

Heb 13:5-6 NKJV Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU." (6) So we may boldly say: "THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I WILL NOT FEAR. WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?"

Mat 10:28 NKJV And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Leaders must OVERCOME FEAR

Col 3:17-21,23 NKJV And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (18) Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. (19) Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. (20) Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. (21) Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged…. (23) And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

1. No one likes to ask for help.2. Some things we cannot do by ourselves.3. Nehemiah needed the help of King

Artaxerxes.4. Nehemiah was willing to do the work.5. Often we ask God for help, but we are

unwilling to do the work.

Leaders Must Understand that it is OK to ask for HELP!

2Th 3:10-14 NKJV For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. (11) For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. (12) Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. (13) But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. (14) And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.

Leaders Must Understand that it is OK to ask for HELP!

Read Exodus 18:13-24

God’s leaders have enemies:

1. We learn that Nehemiah would have enemies.

2. God’s people will always have enemies.

3. If we truly grow we will develop enemies.
