• Be ye therefore followers of God as dear children Ephesians 5:1

• The word therefore shows that Paul is building what he had to say upon the exhortation which he had just written. Because we are not to grieve the Holy Spirit we should be followers of God and walk in Love.

• Then Paul gave us the contrast again between the unregenerate and born again child of God. He listed several thing that will clearly shut us out of the kingdom of God. Ephesians 6:3 - 4

• They are:

• Fornication

• All Uncleanness

• Filthiness

• Covetousness

• Foolish talking

• Those who do such thing’s Paul calls the children of disobedience upon whom cometh the Wrath of God.

• In contrast to these dark deeds the Children of light will bear the fruit of the Spirit which is listed here as goodness, righteousness, and truth. Eph 6:9

• The children of light will have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.

• Ephesians 5:16 redeeming the time because the days are evil

• Because the days are evil it is necessary for every Christian to buy up every opportunity to redeem the time In order to do this we must walk carefully and purposefully before The Lord. There will be no place for careless living.

• In redeeming the time. The Child of God will be filled with The Spirit, speaking and singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs Ephesians 5:16

• Ephesians 5:22-23 Wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands as unto the Lord For your husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church and he is the saviour of the body.

• The wives are to be subject to their husbands Ephesians 5:24

• Wives are to reverence their husband

• Husbands are to love their wives as they would love themselves Ephesians 5:28

• Wives will only be happy to summit and obey their husbands if their husbands really love them.

• The Husbands example is as Christ loved the church. Ephesians 5:25

• Ephesians 5:22-33

• In this passage of scripture Paul by using the instruction given to husbands and wives brought out the relationship between Christ and the Church Jesus loved her and gave himself for her one day he will present her to himself a beautiful glorious bride.

• Ephesians 5:26 That he might wash sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

• It is recognised that God’s word has alone is able to cleanse and have a sanctifying influence in the lives of the hearers John 15:3 and John 17:17 here Paul is referring both to water baptism and the power of the obedience to the word of God.

• Ephesians 6:1-9 Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.

• The relationship between parents and children is very important Children are to obey their parents on the other hand parents must not provoke their children

• Parents must not be angry with their children, scolding and nagging until the children are resentful.

• But to bring them up in loving discipline.

• Children are to honour their parents which is the first commandment with promise Eph 6:2

• It is a wise child that honours its Father and Mother

The Relationship between Christian The Relationship between Christian Employee and EmployerEmployee and Employer

• Instruction are given to servants to obey their masters and to do their very best as unto the Lord. Masters must not threaten their servants but be considerate.

• it is recognised that these instruction were between masters and slave however the same principle will apply today between the Christian Employee and Employer Eph 6:5-9

The Whole Armour Of GodThe Whole Armour Of God

• Ephesians 6:10-20

• The Apostle Paul concluded the letter to the Ephesians with an exhortation to be equipped for battle. He stressed the fact that we are in battle with spiritual wickedness in high places. Or in modern terms against the forces of wickedness in the supernatural sphere.

• In this world we are surrounded by evil and it is very important that we are properly equipped to fight against the subtility of the devil.

• When Paul wrote these words he was thinking of the armour the Roman soldier would be carrying by naming the various pieces of armour he applied it to the spiritual sense.
