INT. PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE - DAY

EDGAR sits on the chair opposite of the Principals desk. His eyes are fixed on the cup of coffee. THE PRINCIPAL sits on the chair on the other side of the desk and takes a sip of the coffee, he makes a twisted face and puts the coffee down. He then opens one of the draws on the desk and takes out a file.

THE PRINCIPAL(Reading from file) Edgar White, correct?

EDGAR(Nods) Yes sir.

THE PRINCIPALFrom the Yellow Flower School?

EDGARMhm.

THE PRINCIPALWelcome aboard!

EDGAR(Confused) Excuse me?

THE PRINCIPALYou have a place! Aren't you happy?

EDGARWell, yes, I am, but um, surely you have to go over my grades and what activities I have done out side of school as well as inside-

THE PRINCIPALNo need! I can tell by just the look of you, you are a bright student! Even if you don't have a gift..

EDGARI'm sorry, a gift?

THE PRINCIPALOh, don't tell me you don't know? all student's here in Hopes Peak Academy have special abilities, or super powers, that's what folks these days call them...

EDGAR(Pulls out the letter out of his pocket and looks on the front and back) It says nothing about gifts or special abilities sir...

THE PRINCIPALMay I see it?

Edgar leans over the desk and hands over his letter to the principal, then the principal opens another desk and gets out a magnifying glass. Then the principal focuses the glass onto the letter.

THE PRINCIPALYou see here?

Edgar stands beside the principal and gets handed the magnifying glass.

THE PRINCIPALDo you see it?

Edgar focuses the magnifying glass on the front side of the letter, he focuses under the college's logo and finds: 'School for gifted young students with unique abilities'

EDGAROh... My apologies sir

TEACHER bursts through the door.

TEACHERPrincipal! We need you quickly!

THE PRINCIPALWhat is it?

TEACHEROne of our fellow students has been left unconscious in the boys toilets!

THE PRINCIPALI'll be right there! (Turns to Edgar) You young man, you stay right here!

The Principal and the teacher leave the room, closing the door. Edgar waits and then opens the door and makes his way

to the toilets...
