Shoebox Ministry

November through December 11th …

… we are doing the “Holiday Sock Drive”. We will collect pairs of NEW socks

for the homeless men, women and children in our area. This may be the only

gift these children of God receive during this season.

Let’s keep their ‘souls’ warm!!

(Shoebox Ministry, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit service corporation, located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Shoebox was founded in 1988 with

a specific goal of meeting the personal hygiene needs of the homeless and working poor.

This is the only agency in the greater Phoenix area that focuses on meeting this very important need. While they

are not a shelter, they do distribute our toiletry kits through agencies and shelters that work directly with the home-

less and working poor.)

WEST SIDE LUTHERAN THRIFT STORE

NEEDS YOU:

We need your extra helping hands.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons

have the greatest need for volunteers.

Volunteer Orientation is the first Friday of each

month at noon.

Located at 107th and Peoria Avenues in Sun City.

Open six days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Between each worship service, the children are invited to "Extreme Kids". Several lay ministers are needed to serve on a rotational basis to work with these children during a 45 minute session.

For more information or to volunteer, contact the church office at 623-215-8139, or by email [email protected]

Children's Lay Ministers (volunteers) are Needed! Can You Help?

Help is needed to set up the sound

system before the worship

services, run the sound board during

the worship services and/or take

down

Our dedicated Worship Techs hard at work. We're not sure if they were really

paying attention. Pastor Kevin will quiz them later

Worship Technician

the sound system after the worship services. No experience is

necessary, but an ear for music and an aptitude for electronics is

helpful. For more information drop by the sound table after a

worship service and talk to Jason Schuldt ([email protected] ) or

contact the church office at 623-215-8139.

This group will present short skits and dramas as part of the worship experience on Sunday morning. No previous experience is necessary, though it is certainly helpful.

There is no need to memorize a lot of material, so a fantastic memory is not needed either (though again it is certainly helpful).

Contact Tracy Sawyer-Sinkbeil at [email protected] if interested or for further information.

Actors and Actresses

A Drama Ministry is forming at Desert Streams Church.

If you sing or play an instrument,

both worship teams would love to have you

join their musical groups.

You are not required to participate

every Sunday.

Also, if you know of a guitarist,

please give us the heads up!

Contact: Traci Sawyer-Sinkbeil or

Courtney Schuldt for more info.

SUNDAY CHURCH SET-UP

& BREAK-DOWN

Each Sunday morning at 6:45 a.m.

(no later than 7:00), we need people

to set-up for services

Each Sunday after the second service, we need

helping hands to break-down all the worship supplies.

Sign up today to assist with this necessary work!

The more people we have helping the more we

can rotate the willing hands from Sunday to Sunday.
