Who is a Prophet?A man called by God to be His representative on earth.

A special witness for Christ, testifying of His divinity and teaching His gospel.


Roles of a ProphetHe speaks for God; as if God were speaking. He teaches the truth.He interprets the word of God.He calls the unrighteous to repentance. He receives revelations and directions from the Lord for our benefit. He may see into the future and foretell coming events so that the world may be warned.

Some Minor and Major ProphetsIsaiahA Hebrew prophet who predicted the coming of Jesus Christ to save mankind from sin. He lived about 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. Hoseathe Prophet of Doom

Hosea was a prophet who lived and prophesied just before the destruction of Israel in 722 BC. He preached to the northern kingdom. He manifested Gods patience and love.

He believed that Gods absolute sovereignty over man compelled social justice for all men, rich and poor alike

He believed in a moral order transcending nationalistic interestsEzekielThe prophet Ezekiel was a contemporary of Jeremiah.
