To build conviction about what we do and why we do them

To encourage quest for scriptural basis for spiritual activities.

Questions from the brethren prompted this study

There is indeed a need for teaching on the church, its doctrines, etc.

The Church – Foretold & Founded Everything tracks back to the Garden of Eden

Creation, Adam & Eve’s disobedience to God’s direction introduced sin to the world

Circumstance is the central concern for the rest of the bible

Human sin & God’s intention to atone for that sin to enable reconciliation to Him through forgiveness of sin

God loves people in spite of their sin His love & Justice could not overlook their sin

Hab 1:13 God’s foreknowledge & His eternal & ultimate

redemption plan. Eph 1:2-4, 3:9-11

The Church: Foretold & Founded Gen 3:15

God’s plan herein detected Ceaseless trouble btn Satan (& his followers)

vs those who follow God Satan tries to get people to sin to stop God from

saving them God would make a way for people to be

forgiven/sends Jesus to live sinless & die for everybody’s sin

Jesus horrible/painful death on cross is ‘heel bruising’ & the cross is Satan’s head crushing. Acts 26:18; Heb 2:14

The Church: Foretold & Founded The Prophets

Isaiah 2: 1-4 (last days, in Jerusalem) Micah 4: 1-3 Daniel 2:44

Jesus Christ Matt 16:18 (Promised to build His Church) Mark 9:1 Luke 24:46-49

Church/Kingdom existed in purpose, promise, prophecy & Preparation

The Church: Foretold & Founded Acts 2: Church founded

Gospel Preached (by Peter using keys… v.14; 10:34)

People convicted Conditions for salvation, hence membership of

the church (v.38 -40) God adds saved people to the church v.41, 47

People don’t join the church (birth, marriage, etc.)

Ekklesia – A called out people (Acts 2:39; 1 Cor 7:20; 2Tim 1:9 (How called? 2Thess 2:14) Continued steadfastly in Apostle’s doctrine.

The Church Jews & Gentiles reconciled in one body Eph

2:15-16 Church is the body, Christ the head Eph

1:20-23; Col 1:18 There is one body – Eph 4:4

Denominations (Denominator?) De (Divide) Nominate (Give a

name) Comes about from doctrines different from the

Apostles’ doctrines – Rom 16:16-18 Not of God’s household if not built on the

Apostles foundation (Eph 2:19-22)

Conclusion Actions – Conviction – Encounter (hear, see,

etc.) Church foretold & founded by God

Purpose God’s foreknown eternal redemption plan for

man Reconcile mankind unto Himself in one body

Saved are (in) the church; One Church, the Church of Christ! Denominations are extension of the Devil’s game in the garden of Eden
