Terry D. Taylor received his Bachelor’s degree in Church Music from Belmont University and his Master’s degree in Church Music and
Conducting from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Terry is a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He has been a full-time
Minister of Music for nearly 30 years, serving churches in Georgia, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Terry is currently the Associate Pastor,
Worship and Music Ministries at Shades Crest Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, an adjunct professor at Samford University, and
managing editor of Growing in Grace Children’s Music Curriculum. Terry is widely known as a children’s music conference leader, guest
conductor and music advocate. Before moving to Birmingham, Terry served on the Executive Board of Dothan, Alabama's Cultural Arts
Center where he chaired the Education Committee and led a volunteer initiative called “ENCORE,” which led to the rehiring of profes-
sional music teachers in public schools.

Charlotte McElroy is a free-lance children’s music clinician, festival/camp leader and curriculum writer from Tupelo, Mississippi. She
has directed choirs of all ages and has been a private vocal instructor. She has taught in churches, schools and at Ridgecrest, Glo-
rieta and Junaluska assemblies. Her curriculum materials for preschool through older children have been published by Growing in
Grace Children’s Music Curriculum, LifeWay, Choristers Guild, Abingdon Press and DOT Music Resources. Recently, Charlotte has
joined Synergy for Ministry, an Internet service, as an instructor of classes and webinars. Charlotte is a graduate of Mississippi
College, holds the Master of Music degree from the University of Mississippi and is Orff certified. She currently volunteers as the co-
director of the older children’s choir at Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo. Her lifelong pursuit is equipping church leaders to worship
through music and to use music to teach about Christ.
Derry Billingsley is Minister of Music at First
Baptist Church, Alabaster, Alabama. He re-
ceived his Bachelor of Music Education degree
from Middle Tennessee State University and a
Master of Church Music degree from Southern
Seminary. Derry has written for LifeWay’s
Music Time preschool curriculum and for
Growing in Grace Children’s Music Design. He
has led preschool choir conferences at Ridgecrest and Glorieta Baptist
Conference Centers, as well as throughout the country.
Susan Earnisse has worked with children’s
choirs of all ages and currently directs the
Young Musicians Choir at First Baptist
Church of Carrollton, GA. She taught music
in public and private schools for twenty
years, and currently works as a freelance
children’s music writer and consultant.
Susan has written children’s choir curricu-
lum for LifeWay’s Children’s Music Series, Dovetail Musicals and Growing
in Grace Children’s Music Design. Susan has a passion for sharing music
of the church with children so that they can become lifelong active
participants in worship.
