* The Hebrew scriptures contain many truths and lessons for us today (I Cor. 10: 6, 11). - Along with the moral teaching, ceremonial

aspects, and matters peculiarly “ hebraic” , - there are many types and antitypes. Moses, for instance, is presented as a type of Messiah /Christ (anointed one)(cp. Acts 3: 22, 23).

There are manifest similarities observed in Pharaoh’s four proposals and how the devil

operates. ***5

Antitypes: A Key to Understanding Bible ProphecyBiblical Types and Antitypes

*** A major key to understanding biblical prophecy is to recognize the relationship between antitypes and types in the Scriptures. - This means that an event or a series of events occurred once, was recorded in the Scriptures, and then at a later time a similitude of the event repeats itself, but with different characters and scene. ***

6

Page 7: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

An anti-type is a type or pattern of something that occurs before the actual event occurs (sometimes incorrectly referred to as an antitype, which means opposite rather than before). - In other words, the first event predicts or points prophetically to the

future event. ( The first Exodus & Greater Exodus bfore 6000)- This is a way for the Creator to give clues and hints about future

events that will come to pass. Those who are ardent students of his Word and those “who have (spiritual) ears to hear” will pick up on these clues and be able to have a sense of what the Creator is going to do at some future date. (ex. Shemitah, sukkot prepraing for the END TIMES – GREATER EXODUS, Joseph & Reunion w/ brothers) ***

- In this way, those who diligently seek him are rewarded with understanding or “inside information” about what he is planning to do in the future.

- At the same time, his divine plans and purposes will be obscured from those who don’t have a diligent heart to seek him and his truth, and who could possibly misuse the truth, if they were to discover it, for selfish purposes if they were to learn it. 7

Page 8: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

An anti-type is a type or pattern of something that occurs before the actual event occurs (sometimes incorrectly referred to as an antitype, which means opposite rather than before). *** Remember that although the events and details of antitypes and types correlate, they do not match each other perfectly in every detail. *- There should, however, be enough similarities between the two that to the rational and biblically astute mind the juxtaposition of the two is not a logical stretch. - Some of these parallels the writers of Scripture tell us about, while others we must arrive at through our own diligent and careful analysis of the Scriptures. **So please stay tuned! ( study highest kind of worship !)

Page 9: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

PARABLES OF YESHUASimilarly, the Gospels record that Yeshua explained deep spiritual truths via parables not to make the meaning clear to the general public, but rather to obscure it. *- His teachings were meant to be understood only by those whom he had called that they might know the mysteries or secrets of the kingdom of Elohim (Matt 13:10–11; Luke 8:9–10). ****

- For thousands of years, the prophets of the Bible, as well as biblical students, scholars and sages have understood the concept of antitypes and types and it has helped them to understand Bible prophecy and future events. *

***Biblical antitypes are identified in three ways. First, the Scriptures themselves identify events as being ante typical. Examples would be:

UNDERSTANDING PARABLES 1 Corinthians 2:7-11 7 But we speak the wisdom of GOD in a mystery, [even] the hidden[wisdom], which GOD ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of [GOD's] glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which GOD hath prepared for them that love Him. 10 But GOD hath revealed [them] unto "Us" by his [Holy] Spirit: for the [Holy] Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of GOD. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save [unless] the [natural] spirit of man which is in him? [reveals it] Even so the [deep hidden] things of GOD knoweth no man, but [except if] the [Holy] Spirit of GOD [reveals it].

11

Page 12: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

UNDERSTANDING PARABLES The key to understanding . . . . The Eternal's Inspired Word, doesn't lie in the establishment of systems of "Higher Learning" or within the walls of theological seminaries, bible colleges, schools of divinity or churches of man's making. *** Understanding is imparted by YHVH to those select few with Spiritual "Ears to Hear, and Eyes to See"; who are, now, able to unlock the hidden meaning(s) in YHVH's creations and words. ( PROV.28:19 WITHOUT VISION PEOPLE PERISH)* The following various forms of parables ["Mashal" in Hebrew and "Parabole" in Greek] are more than just hints or glimpses of truth, but a major key to unlocking the hidden truths through the foolishness of "The Righteousness Seeking [Holy] Spirit."

There are Christians who believe that the Torah is no longer valid for believers and no longer has anything relevant to tell us. However Jesus himself said that he had not come to invalidate the Torah, but to fulfill it! He emphasized the importance of even the smallest letter in the Torah (Matthew 5:17-48). Jesus himself gave us even more commandments than those contained in the Torah (there are 613 commandments in the Torah and more than a thousand in the New Testament). The Torah contains Gods instructions for the whole of mankind …. Paul knew and emphasized the importance of the Torah and the First Testament. In his first letter to the Corinthian church he explains that the First Testament told us that Jesus would die for our sins and after three days he would rise from the dead (1Corinthians 15:3-4). In his second letter to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 3:12-18) Paul talks about being in Christ and reading the Torah (he uses the expression ‘when Moses is read’). Knowing Christ removes a sort of veil that made us (and the children of Israel) blind to what the Spirit of God is saying and doing through the Torah and the Old Testament (Isaiah 25:7, 2Corinthians 3:14). When Jesus opens our eyes, the Spirit of God reveals the glory of God to us through the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament). Paul then describes the powerful effect it has. As we look into it and study it, it changes us so that we begin to reflect Gods glory ourselves: “… from glory to glory”...

The Jewish sages from antiquity have also identified antitypes. Examples would be:- The difficulties surrounding Jacob’s return to the Promised Land after 20 years of exile in Babylon (under Laban, Gen 31–33) is antitypical of the difficulties surrounding the return of Jacob’s descendants to the land of Israel in the last days, which the Scriptures call “Jacob’s Trouble” (Jer 30:7).- The life of Joseph prefigured that of a Messiah Son of Joseph, the Suffering Servant.- The life of David prefigured that of a Messiah Son of David, the Conquering King.- The seven-day week is antetypical of the seven thousand years of man’s tenure on this earth.Note: ante- prefix before, preceding. Finally, Hebrew roots teachers have identified antitypes in the Scriptures. Examples would be:- The biblical feasts point to the steps in YHVH’s plan of salvation for mankind centering around the first and second comings of Messiah.- The stages of the biblical wedding point to YHVH’s plan of salvation for mankind.- YHVH’s judgments on Egypt point prophetically to his judgments on Babylon the Great in the last days.* In like manner, the story of Joseph’s interacting with his brothers (starting in Genesis chapter 37 through 46) is antetypical of future events that are to happen on a national level with the children of the patriarchs. God introduces Himself as YHVH to Moses but states that He was not know to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as YHVH but El Shaddai or God Almighty. What does the Hebrew name El Shaddai reveal in connection with the Messiah? The character of God in His fullness. Many of us build idols of what we want God to be but we do not want to see the fullness of who He is. Yes He is a God of love and mercy BUT He is also a God of justice and righteousness. In fact, we see this week that our God is a Warrior God, a characteristic that most people today refuse to admit and recognize. ***

Israel had not forgotten Elohim’s name as they have been crying out to Him. But, Moses supposed that the people would be sarcastic in their respons.  provides Moses the words of gentile correction; “hayah יהוהasher hayah”, “I shall be as I shall be”. Tell the people, “I shall be as sent me”. In other words, “Don’t question Me in that manner. I will be as I will be. That’s all you need to know. I will be.” (reveal?)But then, Elohim tells Moses; .. יהוה Elohim of your fathers ..So, .His remembrance Name יהוהThe Hebrew word here is “zeker” which means “memorial” or “remembrance”. Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee lexicon states that it is “a name by which one is remembered”. THE NAME – HA’SHEM

And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Now see what I do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand he is going to let them go, and with a strong hand he is going to drive them out of his land.” And Elohim spoke to Mosheh and said to him, “I am יהוה. “And I appeared to Abraham, to Yitshaq, and to Yaʽaqob, as Ěl Shaddai. And by My Name, יהוה, was I not known to them?       (Exodus 6:1-3)

This name is used over 6000 times in the Bible!

We may ask ourselves, “Why it’s important to study the names of God? Why not just call Him ‘God’? Surely that is enough. Or is it?What’s more, it can be and is used to refer to a variety of deities by any number of religions. It’s sort of a generic “no-name” label for any type of divine being.By using the true Biblical names of the one true God, we can all be certain that we are addressing, referring to, and praying to the LORD God (YHVH Elohim) — God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel), and not to some false god or arbitrary deity.By knowing His names, we actually know and understand God better, since each name is a revelation about the inherent character of God.

40

The Power of YHVH (the LORD)“Then you call on the name of your god [אלהיכם], and I will call on the name of the LORD [יהוה / YHVH]. The god who answers by fire—He is God [האלהים / Elohim].” (1 Kings 18:24)The ancient prophet, Elijah, demonstrated the power of calling on the name of God. In his day, 450 prophets in Israel followed Baal (which means lord or master in Hebrew) instead of the Lord (YHVH).Therefore, Elijah challenged Baal to a spiritual duel of sorts in order to prove that the Lord (YHVH / יהוה) is God [Elohim] and that other deities were nothing more than a mere deception.Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to call on the name of Baal, while he would call on the Lord God of Israel. It was to be settled once and for all that whoever answered by sending fire to miraculously consume the sacrifice was the one true God (Elohim). 41

Page 42: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

42

Page 43: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Elijah soaked the sacrifice with water to dispel any doubt that he had somehow hidden a fire on the altar. The water didn’t worry Elijah because he was quite certain that after he prayed to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel), He would send an all-consuming fire that would burn even a soaked sacrifice. At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, OLORD [YHVH], are God [Elohim], and that you are turning their hearts back again.”  (1 Kings 18:36–37)When Elijah humbly but boldly called on God by His name, He answered in such a spectacular fashion that His fire fell and “burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.” (1 Kings 18:38)God’s response to Elijah’s prayer was evidence enough. All the people watching this duel understood that the Lord God [YHVH Elohim] was the only God, and they fell down and worshiped Him.

three compound names of God that begin with YHVH (Please note that this holy name of God is not spoken aloud in Judaism and Adonai [Lord] is substituted):YHVH Yireh (The Lord Will Provide),YHVH Shalom (The Lord Is Peace), andYHVH Tz’va’ot (The Lord of Hosts).God has revealed Himself to us in Scripture through His names. Each name of God tells us more about his marvelous attributes and wonderful character.Everything we could ever need or want is found in His Divine Presence.“And the LORD said, ‘I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim My name, the LORD [YHVH], in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.’” (Exodus 33:19) 44

And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.’” (Genesis 22:14)When we are in need, God reveals Himself as YHVH Yireh, the One who sees and provides for our needs.YHVH Yireh is the name of God that Abraham used after God provided a ram as a substitute for the sacrifice of his son Isaac.

EQUALS FAITHFUL יהוה “And I appeared to Abraham, to Yitshaq, and to Yaʽaqob, as Ěl Shaddai.

And by My Name, יהוה, was I not known to them? (Exodus 6:3)We must be careful in how we interpret this verse. It is not saying that the patriarchs “did not know” His name. For the name יהוה appears 165 times in the book of Genesis. Furthermore, He addresses Himself by יהוה specifically to both Abraham and Jacob:• And He said to him, “I am יהוה, who brought you out of Ur of the

Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.” (Genesis 15:7)• And see, יהוה stood above it and said, “I am יהוה Elohim of

Abraham your father and the Elohim of Yitshaq. The land on which you are lying, I give it to you and your seed. (Genesis 28:13)

RASHI: “It is not written here, ‘(My name, יהוה) I did not make known to them’ but rather ‘(by the name, יהוה) I was not known to them’ – meaning, I was not recognized by them in my attribute of ‘keeping faith,’ by reason of which my name is ‘יהוה,’ namely that I am faithful to fulfil My word, for I made promises to them but I did not fulfil them (during their lifetime).” 46

Page 47: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

EL SHADDAI“El Shaddai” literally translates as “El” (Elohim, Mighty One, The Almighty) “Shaddai” (His Shad, Breast or Nursing is Dai, Enough). El Shaddai (God the All Sufficient) reveals the maternal quality of God’s character as nurturer, comforter, and sustainer of life-giving nourishment, since it relates to the Hebrew word for a woman’s breast. You could say that in and by His Mightiness He sustains us. In this revealing of Himself, יהוה is showing the patriarchs, and us, that as Elohim, (the Name that denotes His Power, Severity and Judgment) He sustains us and meets our every need, even though He remains invisible. This revelation of Himself is evident in the creation and sustaining of all His creation throughout Genesis. RABBI HIRSCH puts it, “Elohim works in and through Nature. He is the invisible cause of all that is observable and visible.” The miracles that El Shaddai did for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were done in a secret or hidden way within nature.

REVEALED יהוהRAV ELHANAN SAMET: El Shaddai guarantees descendants to the patriarchs: • appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Ěl Shaddai – walk before יהוה ..

Me and be perfect. “And I give My covenant between Me and you, and shall greatly increase you.” (Genesis 17:1-2)

• To Jacob: And Elohim said to him, “I am Ěl Shaddai. Bear fruit and increase, a nation and a company of nations shall be from you, and sovereigns come from your body. (Genesis 35:11)

So, יהוה revealed Himself to the fathers as “El Shaddai” and made His covenant with them, to give the Land of Canaan (Israel), as verse 4 of Exodus states; “And I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Kenaʽan, the land of their sojournings, in which they have sojourned. (Exodus 6:4)The name of יהוה guarantees land for the patriarchs as seen above. The key to the new revelation of יהוה is that the Almighty is acting on His promise of the land which will begin by releasing His children from Egypt, continue with a long and sometimes torturous march, but guaranteed to end in the Promised Land.

Page 49: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? is saying that He is revealing Himself, through Moses and great יהוהmiracles that defy nature and turn it upside-down, as יהוה. This is a new revelation in Torah to the world and Pharaoh.

And afterwards Mosheh and Aharon went in and said to Pharaoh, “Thus said יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Let My people go, so that they keep a festival to Me in the wilderness.’ ” And Pharaoh said, “Who is יהוה, that I should obey His voice to let Yisra’ĕl go? I do not know יהוה, nor

am I going to let Yisra’ĕl go.” (Exodus 5:1-2)Well, Pharaoh is about to learn of and experience יהוה firsthand. The Name “יהוה” is His “Memorial Name” and it is the name He desires that all His creation remembers Him by. The rabbis teach that יהוה denotes His characteristics of “chesed” (loving-kindness) and “rachamim” (mercies). While יהוה delivers the Children of Israel from Egypt (bondage and constriction) with great judgments against Pharaoh, Egypt and their gods, He demonstrates openly His mercies, kindnesses and love for His chosen. In fact it is in the midst of this “furnace of affliction” that He chooses Israel as His precious treasure and shows them the Truth of His Salvation, another attribute of the Name יהוה, “Eternal Truth”.

REDEMPTION- only way of salvation in OT & NT is blood of passover lamb

!is telling Moses (and us, too!!) to just believe him יהוהBelieve his Word; trust that He is who He says He is. That is what his covenant name implies: I am who I am, or I will be what I will be; i.e., I will be your All Sufficient One and will meet your every need. Redemption involves three things: 1.The exchange of one thing (money or blood) for

something else (the sins of Israel) must occur. This is expressed in the phrase, “I will redeem you.” Through the shed blood of the Passover lamb, יהוה redeemed Israel from the power and penalty of sin, which is death (Ezek 18:4; Rom 6:23, 1 Peter 1:18-19)

2.Redemption involves the use of power to extricate that which is being redeemed (in this case, Israel) from that which is holding it captive or enslaved (i.e., the world, sin and the devil as pictured by Pharaoh and Egypt). This is expressed in the phrase, “with  an  outstretched  arm.” (Eph 1:19)

3.Redemption involves judgment upon and or destruction of the captor. This is expressed in the phrase, “and with great judgments.”

54

55

Page 56: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

As God had commanded them, Moses and his brother Aaron (Aharon) returned to Pharaoh over and over again, demanding that he let God’s people go so that they may serve Him in the wilderness.* This whole account of God’s redemption of Israel from Egypt has a spiritual parallel in our salvation from the kingdom of darkness, ruled by HaSatan (literally, the Satan) and the Kingdom of Light, ruled by God.*** We are delivered through faith in Yeshua, the Passover Lamb, not simply to walk away and “do our own thing.” ***As it was for the Israelites, the purpose of our freedom is to serve the living God. ( HOW? BY KEEPING MITZVOT SIGN OF OUR LOYALTY AND COVENANT FAITHFULLNESS TO HIM)“For  He  has  rescued  us  from  the  dominion  of  darkness  and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have  redemption,  the  forgiveness  of  sins.” (Colossians  1:13–14)

56

Page 57: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

The concept of Redeemer is as follows:• A redeemer is one who frees or delivers another from

difficulty, danger, or bondage, usually by the payment of a ransom price. In the OT, the redeemer could function in several ways. He could buy back property (and even enslaved people) sold under duress (Lev 25:23–32). He (usually as owner, not as a relative) often redeemed from dedicated property and firstborn livestock (Lev 27:1–33; also Exodus 21:28–30).

• Boaz’s function as redeemer for Ruth (Ruth 3:13–4:10) is well known, as is Job’s resurrection hope in יהוה, his Redeemer (Job 19:25). יהוה

• himself is the Redeemer of Israel, a fact mentioned 18 times—especially by the prophet Isaiah (Ps 78:35; Isa 41:14).

*** In the NT, [Messiah] is viewed as the ultimate Redeemer, although the Greek word for redeemer is not used. יהושע gave his life "as  a  ransom  for  many"  (Mark 10:45). Thus, the apostle Paul speaks of believers as having "redemption through his blood" (Eph 1:7) (Ibid.).

57

Page 58: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

The Renewed Covenant has “I wills” from יהוה as well:“See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall make a new covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehudah, not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares יהוה. “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. “And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares יהוה. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.” (Jeremiah 31:31-34)Please note that each successive covenant יהוה makes with his people is based on and is an expansion of the previous covenant/s. COMING OF יהושע“As in the days when you came out of the land of

Mitsrayim, I shall let him see wonders.” (Micah 7:15)Israel had lost their trust, or never really had it to begin with. They had stories, remembrances that were generations removed from conditions they found themselves in. (2000 Yrs of Greco Roman Influence)Even with ourselves the stories have be adapted, changed, “tweaked”  for over 2700 years. We lost the truth. Our forefathers ran from the truth when they went head-long into idolatry. ***Even the reason for Mashiach’s coming has been distorted, we have many more layers of confusion than Israel. But יהוה remembers His Covenant with our fathers and He even includes the “mixed multitude” that Moses added to the Father’s flock. As the prophets repeatedly remind us in Scripture, He will remember us. *** Just as the miracles which יהוה wrought in Egypt surrounded the exodus, so too, will the miracles we will witness in the future be a part of the ultimate Redemption. EXPECT MIRACLES IN THE YEAR OF THE SHEMITAH !

LISTEN

And Mosheh spoke thus to the children of Yisra’ĕl, but they did not listen to Mosheh, because of shortness of spirit, and

from hard slavery. (Exodus 6:9)Exodus 6:9 actually reads the Children of Israel did not “listen” to Moses because of “shortness”  of  “spirit”  and “hard”  “slavery”. Other English translations say “anguish” of “spirit” and “hard” “bondage”. But, the Hebrew here is most interesting. They did not listen to Moses, “Sh‟ma”, or “hear and do”:1. Because of “kotzer”  (Strong’s #7115) meaning

“impatient”,  from the root word katsar  which means “to shorten”. The word used for “spirit” here is “Ruach” (Strong’s #7307) meaning “spirit” or “breath”.

2. “hard  bondage”. The Hebrew word translated here as “hard”  is  “kasheh” (Strong’s #7186) meaning “hard” or “stiff-necked”. Describing the Children of Israel in Exodus  32:9,  33:3,  33:5,  34:9,  Deuteronomy  9:6,  9:13, 31:27  and  Judges  2:19.  The word “slavery” “abodah” (Strong’s #5656) meaning “work”, “labour” or “service”.

60

Page 61: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

ATTACHED TO THE CAPTORThe meanings of Exodus 6:9, reflect also on their attitudes. According to the DHV (Dyslexic Hebrew Version) it translates; “And Moshe spoke these words to the Children of Yisra‟el, but they did not „hear and obey‟ Moshe,  because  they  were „impatient‟ of „spirit‟ and „stiff-necked‟ in their „service‟.” This relates both ways. Yes, their service to the Egyptians was hard. But, they were stiff-necked about leaving it as they lived in their own homes, in their own community, Goshen (a land of plenty). Over time, these homes and their city had become their “prison”. Psychologists have written a lot about this phenomenon. It’s very common, also, in long-term hostage situations. The hostage, while wanting to go free, develops an attachment to the captor because they come to depend on them for their daily survival. *** ( IN LOVE WITH THE WORLD-SYSTEM BONDAGE)

The Hebrew scriptures contain many truths and lessons for us today (I Cor. 10: 6, 11). Along with the moral teaching, ceremonial aspects, and , there are many types and antitypes. ( TORAH & NT CONNECTION)LESSONS IN LIFES APPLICATION **** The Blueprint - The TORAHIn order to understand God's plans for the future, to understand the prophetic books of the Bible and to be able to interpret them in a biblical way, it is imperative first of all to understand God's blueprint [1].*** Without good drawings and plans and detailed measurements and materials made by a trained architect, it is impossible to build a house with everything in the right place, or even to understand at which stage the building process is.

There are manifest similarities observed in Pharaoh’s four proposals and how the devil operates.

62

Page 63: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Pharaoh’s four proposals and how Moses responded to them. "Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land" (Ex. 8: 25). -  The plagues of turning the water into blood, frogs, lice, and flies is when the first proposal is offered. - Pharaoh like the devil himself cannot be trusted and he is a brazen liar (cp. John 8: 44, cp. Ex. 8: 8, 15). * Israel could not offer the needed sacrifices "in the land" because the land was under the control of Pharaoh and to have done so would have incurred the Egyptian death penalty (Ex. 8: 26). * In other words, Israel could not please Egypt and God at the same time. Yeshua taught: "24: No man  can  serve  two masters:  for  either  he will  hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (Matt. 6).

63

Page 64: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Pharaoh's Proposed CompromisesSurrounded as we are by an increasing multitude of professed Christians and preachers who seem willing to compromise on everything except their false doctrines, it seems fitting to study again the compromises Pharaoh proposed to Moses and the response of the man of God. After the plagues of flies, we find in Exodus 8:25, "Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, 'Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.' Moses replied, 'It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God.'" *** One cannot but wonder if some of our present preachers would have said, "That is satisfactory, for one cannot worship God in terms of laws and regulations." Or perhaps we would have heard, "Since worship is simply a matter of the spirit, the outward form is of no importance.“ GOD KNOWS OUR HEARTS ? ( THAT THE HEART IS WICKED)

64

Page 65: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Pharaoh’s four proposals and how Moses responded to them. Addendum 1: The ten plagues are observed in Exodus 7: 20 through 12: 30). These were miracles performed by God and yet Pharaoh refused to cooperate. As a result, he suffered a hardened heart. Notice how we both read that pharaoh hardened his own heart and God hardened Pharaoh’s heart (Ex. 8: 15; 9: 12). *** I submit that God then and now hardens our heart by our refusal to accept His will (cp. Heb. 3: 7-15, cp. 2 Thes. 2: 10-12). ( PASTORS BIBLE TEACHERS WHO REFUSED THET TORAH ( TEN COMMANDMENTS _ SHABBATH) their hearts hardened . Pharaoh’s four proposals and how Moses responded to them. If the devil today cannot have complete control, he will relinquish some control to be able to yet keep man in his jurisdiction, so to speak. The New Testament is explicit in terms of no compromise with evil. In fact, not only is such fellowship forbidden, but rebuke and exposure of such is required (Eph. 5: 10, 11). • Denominationalism is a system that is offered by the devil, the

modern Pharaoh, in order to allow some religion, but be able to control it. ***

• Compromise and religious mergence. ( Political control)• Such is basically the appeal of Pharaoh to Moses. • Notice Moses’ reply to Pharaoh’s compromise solution: "27: We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us" (Ex. 8).     "Only ye shall not go very far away" (Ex. 8: 28). 66

Page 67: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

For us, the principles taught (By Moses) are very important. The Devil does not care if we make the supreme sacrifice as long as we do it on his terms. "Though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned" (1 Corinthians 13:3) ***the Devil is pleased as long as it is not done in loving obedience to God. *** *** “We all worship the same God, whether we do it your way or mine" are of the same nature. ***One thing that makes these false doctrines so appealing is that they are almost true. (too much LIBERTY IN CHURCH)- One denominational church is almost as good as another,

but none even compare with the LORD’s (Matthew 16:18).

Pharaoh’s four proposals and how Moses responded to them. Denominationalism is a system that is offered by the devil, the modern Pharaoh, in order to allow some religion, but be able to control it. • Addendum 2: • The principle of denominationalism is seen in Paul’s

rebuke of the Corinthians (I Cor. 1: 10-13). Denominationalism, rallying around men and holding to different doctrines, stands opposed to YESHUA’S prayer (John 17: 20, 21).

*** "we all worship the same God, whether we do it your way or mine" are of the same nature. ?Most Protestant and Catholic groups worshipped the same God that I worship, but I discovered over the years that it is not so. *** Many in all sorts of groups have invented their own gods, but have little or no concept of the God of the Bible. Some have a lenient God -- without reference to our willingness to obey. Both of these types are now proclaimed by some who call themselves members of the Lord's church. Men today have done as the Greeks and Romans of past ages did. They have made gods in their own image. ( GREEK CULTURE)

*** We must ever be impressed with the truth that whatever sacrifice, offering or worship we do, must be by the authority of God and pleasing to Him (John 4:24).

• The principle of denominationalism is seen in Paul’s rebuke of the Corinthians (I Cor. 1: 10-13). Denominationalism, rallying around men and holding to different doctrines, stands opposed to YESHUA’S prayer (John 17: 20, 21).

Joh 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. Joh 17:18 "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. Joh 17:19 "For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. Joh 17:20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; Joh 17:21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. Joh 17:22 "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; Joh 17:23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 70

Pharaoh’s four proposals and how Moses responded to them. "Only ye shall not go very far away" (Ex. 8: 28). Pharaoh attempted to position himself and control Israel to where they would think they were freed, but he would have them within his easy reach. * In other words, Pharaoh offered to grant partial release. * God today demands all or none. We are commanded to love God totally; count all things loss for Christ; and be totally dedicated in mind and body to God (Matt. 22: 37; Phili. 3: 7, 8; Rom. 12: 1, 2). Some professing Christians have just enough religion to make them unhappy. They remain within easy reach of the devil and do not totally refuse him (cp. Jas. 4: 7). *** Why? It’s the battle of the MIND? (PSCHOLOGY – Know thyself- GREEK VS KNOW THY GOD WHO CREATED YOURSELFPharaoh would have gladly conceded, but Moses steadfastly refused to compromise.

71

Page 72: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

There are those who claim to be Christian parents who refuse to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). • They reason, "If I make my child attend the services, or study

the Bible, he will grow up and resent the church and me." Or, "I think a child should make up his own mind about his religious beliefs.“ (LAW IN USA & U.N.)

• It is probably true that if a child sees his parents sit at home and never study the Bible nor attend Bible classes, yet the parent makes the child go, he will resent it.

• But any time the Devil can get a person to leave any of his relatives behind because of any sort of excuse he may have, he has accomplished his purpose. Many times I have heard someone say, "I never discuss the Bible with my relatives, for they are harder to convert than any outsider.“ ( MAYBE OVERFAMILIARITY WITH RELATIVES) 72

Page 73: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

"Only ye shall not go very far away" (Ex. 8: 28). The temptations to be a half-Christian are many, and the manifestations of trying to do it are on every hand. This was the condition of the church in Laodicea. God's reaction to it is vividly suggested in Revelation 3:16, "So then because thou art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth." It comes in many forms. There are many connected with the church who are willing to learn enough to seem religious, but not enough to change their lives. ( go thru Trials first – no half cook in God’s Kingdom)That Yeshua said in Matthew 6:24, "No man can serve two masters" makes no impression on them. ***Many Bible classes and teachers make no attempt to probe deeply into a study of God's word, but merely skim the surface.

73

Page 74: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Pharaoh’s four proposals and how Moses responded to them.

"Go now ye that are men" [but not] "your little ones" (Ex. 10: 8-11). Pharaoh’s proposal number three involved only releasing the males, but retaining the women and children. At the time of this third offer, three more plagues have occurred, murrain, boils, and the hail. Thus, seven in all have taken place. * Pharaoh tried to convinced Moses and Aaron that the children were not important in the worship of God (cp. Ex. 10: 11). The devil has convinced many today that their children are not to be included in religious observation. ( EXPLAIN GENERATIONAL CONTINUITY)Paul wrote: "4: And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Eph. 6). Many denominations today provide baby sitting and children’s church for the young people; thus excluding them from the "real" worship. ***(STRUCTURE OF LAWS FOR YOUNG & OLD VS RACHIM) Pharaoh and the devil know that if the women and children can be excluded, control will continue over the men. - Such a condition, at best, would result in divided attention and affection.

74

Page 75: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

"Go now ye that are men" [but not] "your little ones" (Ex. 10: 8-11). Pharaoh’s proposal number three involved only releasing the males, but retaining the women and children. * Pharaoh tried to convinced Moses and Aaron that the children were not important in the worship of God (cp. Ex. 10: 11).

Denominations and all teachers of false doctrine are motivated by the concept of going, but not going all the way. *** It is the basis of the doctrine of salvation by faith only, or worship according to the dictates of your own conscience. *** follow your heart??Peter, who followed afar off (Matthew 26:58) and subsequently cursed, swore and denied his Lord should be a warning to all those who are not willing to go all the way with Christ. The next compromise is found in Exodus 10:11. "Go now ye that are men." No doubt he felt that they would come back if they left their wives and little ones behind.

GENERATIONAL INIQUITYExodus 20:55 “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, YHVH your Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.*** To hate YHVH means not to choose Him, so those who hate Him are those who choose not to live for YHVH. *** Exodus 34:77 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”

Leviticus 26:3939 ‘So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their forefathers they will rot away with them.( HOLOCAUST in NAZI is classic example)

Page 78: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

This phrase is also repeated in various other passages: 1 Kin 21:29; Jer 32:18; Is 14:21; Jer 14:20Lamentations 5:77 Our fathers sinned, and are no more; It is we who have borne their iniquities.Lam 5:7 Ang aming mga magulang ay nagkasala at wala na; At aming pinasan ang kanilang mga kasamaan.

Two Greek words are used to convey the idea of iniquity. One is translated as lawlessness and the other as evildoers or workers of unrighteousness.Matthew 7:2323 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Page 79: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

"Go…only let your flocks and herds be stayed" (Ex. 10: 24). * Pharaoh’s fourth proposal might appear to have been one that could have been compromised. Some are even critical of Moses for refusing this offer. Keep aware that two more of the ten plagues have taken place, locusts and darkness; thus nine in all. * While perhaps plausible on the surface, there would have been serious negative consequences had Moses accepted this offer. ***Leaving their "belongings" in Egypt would have resulted in a looking back condition. *** Yeshua reminds us of one who looked back: "Remember  Lot’s  wife"  (Luke  17:  32).  "62:  And  Yeshua  said  unto  him,  No man,  having  put  his  hand  to  the  plough,  and  looking  back,  is  fit  for  the kingdom of God" (Luke 9). A divided heart has caused many to return to the devil (cp. Hos. 10: 2). While some compromises may appear relatively innocent, they involve more that what may appear on the surface. *THE EVIL AND DANGER OF ANTI- SEMITISM & REPLACEMENT THEOLOGYMoses relies thus to this offer:

79

Page 80: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

"Go…only let your flocks and herds be stayed" (Ex. 10: 24). It is a strange and remarkable fact that man will consent to any terms rather than yield his life in complete submission and total surrender to the will of God. The Devil knows this and will do all within his power to get him to compromise at any or all points along the way. *** God reveals that He is never satisfied without a complete surrender. The rich young ruler would gladly have followed Jesus if he could have done it on his own terms. ***Only the Lord knows how many have fallen into the snare of thinking one can keep his business and his religion separate. ( CHURCH AND SECULAR LIVES ARE VIEWED AS INSEPARABLE IN HEBRAIC WORLDVIEW VS GREEK ___ PHYSICAL SEPARATE FROM SPIRITUAL ( PLATONIC)I know the Lord said, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures on the earth" (Matthew 4:9), but He also said, "He that provides not for his own has denied the faith and is worse than an infidel" (1 Timothy 5:8). *** We should be able to learn from the story of Pharaoh that God does not allow us to compromise with respect to His commands.

80

Page 81: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

"26: Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither" (Ex. 10). The devil just like Pharaoh is often relentless and is willing to compromise. He is able to make his offers appealing and even appear fair. "I should be able to go to the dance, just as long as I do not dance," the devil convinces young people. "A little marijuana will not hurt me," the devil often works by degrees. *** "I know it will be hard marrying Sam who is not a Christian and who likes the world, but I can manage and will remain faithful to God," the devil convinces many women. *** In the case of the flocks, Israel would need these animals in their worship. You see, Pharaoh if he succeeds in talking them into leaving behind their flocks will defeat their worship. ***The devil will partially let people go today, if he can defeat their worship to God. ( GREEK WIHOUT HEBRAIC TEACHINGS IS PARTIALLY INCOMPLETE THEOLOGY & PRACTICE.) ***

81

Page 82: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Conclusion: Through all of the compromises and the refusals offered by Pharaoh to release Israel, Moses stood firm. "9: And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD" (Ex. 10). There will be many compromise offers to not hold staunchly to the truth (John 8: 32, 4: 24). Some of these concessions may appear reasonable, but be careful. In all of these, the devil just like Pharaoh, has designed them to where he can still reach and control us when he desires. ( MIXED BABYLON)There must not be absolutely any compromise with the devil (Matt. 6: 24). *** All such negotiations with the devil will always end in man being taken advantage of by the devil. ( WHY? LACK OF KNOWLEDGE – CHRISTIAN NEEDS MESSIANIC TORAH TEACHERS TODAY)The good news is that Israel was freed and the Egyptian armies were defeated (Ex. 14ff.). We, too, can be liberated from the bondage of the devil today, just like Israel, with God’s help! (Rom. 6: 17, 18.)

Exodus in RevelationGiven By: "Glenn D. Blank" On Saturday, April 16, 2011This month I have been teaching on Revelation, and Passover is now around the corner.

As Dan Juster has pointed out in his book Revelation: the Passover Key, there are striking parallels between the events remembered in Exodus and the foretold in the end-time prophets and Revelation. So, as we prepare forPesach, let us also prepare for the last days of deliverance, by telling the story. Exodus 13:8 says, "You shall tell your son on that day, saying, 'It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'"Every Passover, we must retell the story of the deliverance of our ancestors from slavery as our story.

83

Page 84: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationIn Exodus, an evil Pharaoh arose, seeking to oppress and destroy the children of Israel. In Revelation, an anti-Messiah will arise, seeking to oppress and destroy the people of God (both Israel and the believers in Messiah).

In Exodus, God raises up two witnesses (Moses and Aaron) to prophesy against Pharaoh's power. In Revelation, God will raise up two witnesses to prophesy against the power of Anti-Messiah.

In Exodus, plagues fall upon Egypt, demonstrating the power of God to Egypt. In Revelation, plagues will fall upon the world, demonstrating the power of God to the world and the gods of this world.

Plague #1: Water is turns into blood. Exodus 7:20-22, "So Moses . lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood. The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile." 84

Page 85: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationThe plague of blood in the Nile was a judgment on the Nile god known as Hapi, who was as associated with fertility, food and water. With all that fish rotting, Hapi looked pretty helpless! Similarly, in Revelation 8:8-9, "The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died."

I don't know about you, but if I saw the sea turning to blood, I would be reminded of what happened in Egypt. But in the last days, not everyone will get the message right away, just as they didn't in Egypt. Pharaoh's magicians tried imitating Moses with their tricks. And in Revelation, Anti-Messiah's false prophet will seek to deceive many with his false signs. Revelation 13:14, "And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast." Just remember, been there, done that!

85

Page 86: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationPlague #2: Frogs. Exodus 8:3, "The Nile will swarm with frogs, which will come up and go into your house and into your bedroom and on your bed." If you think frogs in your bed is ooey, wait until you see what's in store in Revelation 16:13, "And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs." Note that the frogs and later locusts are unclean spirits that look like frogs. That's a principle for interpreting Revelation: the plagues are unclean or evil spirits. God regarded them as unclean spirits in Egypt, too. The plague of frogs was a judgment on the god Heket, who had the head of a frog and was worshiped as a god of fertility.

86

Page 87: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationExodus 9:10-12, "It became boils breaking out with sores on man and beast. The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians as well as on all the Egyptians. And the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not listen to them." From the river the plagues came into their homes and then on their skin. So in Revelation 16:11, "they cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores, and did not turn from their sinful deeds."In Exodus, in spite of the awesome signs of God's judgment, Pharaoh amazingly hardens his heart.

In Revelation, in spite of the awesome signs of God's wrath, many people will still refuse to repent. (We should not be surprised that many refuse to repent, for as Yeshua said in Matthew 7:13-14, "wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.")

87

Page 88: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationJust as plagues of locusts and darkness fell upon Egypt, so they appear again in Revelation 9:2-3, "He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power."In Exodus, the plagues fall upon Egypt, the greatest world power of that time.

In Revelation, the plague fall upon all the nations of the world which defy the God of Israel. For just as God judged Egypt for its mistreatment of the children of Israel, God will judges all the nations for how they have treated His covenant people Israel. As He says in Joel 3:2, "I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land."

88

Page 89: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationThrough all these plagues, God makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.Exodus 9:26, "Only in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel were, there was no hail."In Revelation, God protects His people who have His seal: Revelation 7:3, "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads!" The seal of God is probably not a cross on your neck or even jewelry with the Messianic seal; it's the Spirit of God living in your heart. As 2 Corinthians 1:22 says, "He put his seal on us, and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee for the future."In response to the seal of God Anti-Messiah demands that the mark of "666" appear on the rest- the number of man, apart from God. (In Hebrew numerology 6 is the number of man.)

89

Page 90: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationIn Exodus, God protects his people in Goshen. In Revelation 9:4, the demonic locusts will be commanded to harm "only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads."In Exodus, the sons of Israel overcame the angel of death by means of the blood of a lamb on the doorposts of their houses. In Revelation 12:11 the children of God will overcome Satan "by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimonyIn Exodus, the armies of Pharaoh foolishly defy God by coming out to attack Israel. In Revelation, the armies of the nations will again defy God by making a final assault against Israel. In Exodus, God splits he sea to deliver his people. In Revelation, Messiah will split both the heavens and the earth to deliver his people, taking them up through the veil between the seen and unseen to be with him for the wedding of the Lamb.In Exodus, the armies of Egypt are drowned in the sea.In Revelation, the armies of anti-Messiah are consumed by nuclear fire.In Exodus, Moses and Miriam lead Israel in a song of victory and praise to God. In Revelation, the elders of Israel lead the saints in song after song of glory and praise to the Lamb. It's glory to God, both in Exodus and Revelation. V'eemru?

Yet there is also grit and gruesomeness, darkness and despair, tears and terror.

90

Page 91: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationIn Exodus, the children of Israel suffered in bondage until their cries aroused God's compassion. In the last days, the blood of the saints or kedoshim will also cry out to God. In Revelation 6:10, "they cried out with a loud voice: 'Lord, the One who is holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?'"

A key to ushering in the final victory is the suffering and the blood of the kedoshim. On the one hand, God distinguishes and protects His people, sealed by His Spirit. On the other hand, some of His prophets and kedoshim do willingly suffer for His name's sake.

By identifying with the blood of the Lamb, the trials and even the blood of the martyrs take on eternal significance and power, filling up the cup of Messiah's sufferings. Since humanity ceded authority over this world to hasatan, we are responsible for its devastation. So humanity will shares in the restoration of this world by sharing in Messiah's suffering-Messiah will call some of His holy people to take a stand against the spiritual forces of darkness in this world.

91

Page 92: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationHashem does provide protection for His people through the tribulation--the seal distinguishing them for those afflicted by the locusts and other plagues; the place of refuge in the wilderness to which the woman representing Israel flees from the dragon; the calling up rapture of the kedoshim into His presence at the sound of the seventh shofar, for the glorious wedding with the Lamb.

Yet just as Messiah willingly laid down His life in suffering and death, in order to fulfill the purpose of God, some of the kedoshim in the last days will willingly present their testimony to those who hate it, for the sake of some who will turn and trust in God. I think of my friend and mentor Carol Ann, who willingly gave her life in intercession the rebirth of faith in Israel and the Islamic world. I think of Jill Shannon, a Jewish believer to whom the Lord has revealed her own martyrdom. She was thrilled to see it at first, but when she accepted her calling and destiny, it transformed her.

.92

Page 93: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationTo the martyr-witnesses there is special honor in the judgment of the just. Revelation 20:4, "And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for testifying about Yeshua and proclaiming the Word of God, also those who had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received the mark on their foreheads and on their hands. They came to life and ruled with the Messiah for a thousand years."

Yet even for those of us who are not called so, there will be opportunity to keep trusting in the faithfulness of God during times of shaking and terror all around us.

How do you respond to the trembling of earthquakes, to the sudden rush of tsunamis, to the growing disaster of nuclear reactors spewing radiation into the air and the sea? How do you respond to suffering in your own body or the body of someone you love? How do you respond to the voice of the enemy threatening to overwhelm you, "You're done for!"

.93

Page 94: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationFear is natural in such circumstances; faith is supernatural. Will we see with natural eyes only, or with supernatural? God gives us supernatural insight. As Romans 8:15 says, "For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father!" Today we can cry out to Him, "Abba Father," and keep trusting in Him. V'eemru?

At this point, I'd like to share a testimony about what happened to me, just last Shabbat. Before service began, I was experiencing some fairly intense warfare-this though came into my head: "The congregation is small and it's going to fold"-just as I am about to leave Lehigh and go full time. Hasatan is persistent, seeking to distract and if possible discourage me. I just prayed and worshiped the Lord through it.

But then came four prophecies that spoke directly against these attacks.First, during the prophecy time, Paul Kofchock opened with a word, "Do not fear. I am with you. Do not fear." I hope that word spoke to others as well, but it spoke with resonance to my soul.

.94

Page 95: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Exodus in RevelationThe story of Exodus was written as an example for us: we should re-tell it as if it were our own story. The story of Revelation was written as a warning and an encouragement to us: we should ponder it as it were our own future-for it will be.

In that day, you and I will cry out Abba Father, and keep trusting in Him, so that we will say, as Job 19:25 says, "I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. and after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God."

In Rev 2:10, Yeshua tells the congregation of Smyrna, "Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested. and I will give you the crown of life."

That crown is worth waiting for, worth enduring for. V'eemru? The worship team may come forward. Let's pray...

ANCIENT EXODUS

96

Page 97: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Comparing  the  plagues  of  the  Exodus  to  the  plagues  of  Revelation  is  instructive. What  is missing from the Exodus account is a "rapture."The uncanny resemblance of the plagues of Revelation to the plagues of Exodus has received the attention of many Bible students. What of course is missing from Exodus is the so-called "rapture." That should not surprise a real Bible student though. The so-called "rapture" is not found in Revelation either. The concept of a "rapture" comes primarily from this passage:But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Yeshua died and rose again, even so G-d will bring with Him those who sleep in Yeshua. For this we say to you by the word of the L-rd, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the L-rd will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the L-rd Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of G-d. And the dead in Messiah will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the L-rd in the air. And thus we shall always be with the L-rd. Therefore comfort one another with these words. But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the L-rd so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, "Peace and safety! " then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 1Thessalonians 4:13-5:4

97

Page 98: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

98

Of course, the mention of a "thief in the night" reminds some of the passage made popular by the Left Behind series from Matthew 24:

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your L-rd is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Matthew 24:36-43

It all seems pretty obvious to anyone taught in the dispensational method. To them there is a rapture of believers prior to the "Great Tribulation." To them, there has to be.

Page 99: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

99

Beloved, "rapture theology" is an invention of dispensationalism. It isn't in Exodus or Revelation. It isn't in Daniel. It isn't in Matthew 24, or even in 1Thessalonians 4. Oh, to be sure there is a being "caught up" to meet Messiah, but there is no special extraction of believers prior to Israel suffering "Jacob's trouble." This teaching is a necessary teaching of dispensationalism - invented to explain the so-called "Church Age" and why the Prophets speak not of the "Church" but of "Israel." Perhaps you know their logic: "G-d had a people, that was Israel... then He switched to the Church, they were His people... then later, He will take the Church out of this world, and they He will switch back to Israel - they will be His people again."For those that read Tim LeHaye's pabulum, hopefully you actually read Matthew 24 also and knew that his view of being "left behind" was exactly backward. Beloved, in the days of Noah, and in the prophecy of Yeshua, the righteous were not "raptured" or "taken away" - no, it is the wicked that are taken away. The righteous are the ones "left behind." Don't take my word for it. Read it again:

But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.Matthew 24:37-41Remember, in Scripture, the righteous are always left. It is the wicked that are taken away.We all know the evil that is called "Replacement Theology." Dispensationalism seems much more benign. Certainly, dispensationalists are much more friendlier toward Israel. Regardless, Dispensationalism is incorrect, and you can always identify a dispensationalist by asking them about the "Rapture."

Take heart, beloved. You have been joined to Israel (Romans 11, Ephesians 2-3), there is a time of testing that is coming upon the whole earth. G-d will shelter Israel - not by taking her out of the world, but by preserving her as an eternal testimony to His faithfulness.Consider this: in Exodus, the first three plagues were shared by all the inhabitants of Egypt, both Israelite and Egyptian. However, the last seven plagues, the Israelites watched on, as only Egyptians experienced the plagues. Interesting. Seven plagues... just like Revelation 15.Are the righteous "raptured" or "taken away" before the time of testing - no. The Bible teaches that Israel, and those added to her, will be preserved in that day.Parashat Vaera - 'And I appeared' (Exodus 6:2-9:35)

These are the names of the sons of Lĕwi according to their generations: Gĕreshon, and Qehath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Lĕwi were one hundred and thirty-seven. ..And Amram took for himself Yokebed, his father’s sister, as wife. And she bore him Aharon and Mosheh. And the years of the life of Amram were one hundred and thirty-seven. (Exodus 6:16-20)Levi (Strong’s #3878) means “joined to” as in “at the heart”. His sons Gereshon (#1648), meaning “exile”, Qehath (#6955) meaning “assembly” and Merari (#4847) meaning “bitter herbs”. Levi lived 137 years. The gematria of Levi’s lifespan matches that of the word “matseva” which means “monument”.  Levi (137 years), his tribe is to be a monument for us and for all time. That he is “joined in heart” to the “exiled assembly” and eats the “bitter herbs” of our slavery with us. Here we see a picture of Levi’s destiny to teach Ephraim in these last days.

THE SONS

105

The sons of Gereshon (sons of exile):• “Libni” (#3845) meaning “white”. • “Shim‟i” (8096) meaning “renown” or “known”, from “sh‟ma”

meaning “hear and obey”. The sons of Qehath (the assembly) who lived 133 years; • “Amram” (#6019) meaning “exalted people”, • “Yitshar” (#3323 & 3324) meaning “shining oil” or “anointed”, • “Hebron” (2275) meaning “joining” or “conjunction” and • “Uzzi‟el” (#5816) meaning “my strength is Elohim”. ..The numeric value of 133 matches the letters “Nun-Gimmel-Lamed” which, depending on how they are arranged mean “to stumble” or “to smite”, “to hide” and “to come out” or “sprout”. The sons of Merari (bitter herbs), which are; • “Mahli” (#4249) meaning “sick” and • “Mushi” (#4187) meaning “yielding” as in “tested and surrendered”

Page 106: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

MEANING BEHIND THEIR NAMESWe see in the names of his sons that:1. The “sons of exile” can (if willing) be made “white” and “known”

by יהוה, if they “hear and obey” Him. 2. The “sons of the assembly” are “exalted people”, “anointed” with

“shining oil” or Ruach HaKodesh, and are “joined” together in “Elohim, their strength”.

3. That though they “stumbled” and were “smitten” by Elohim and were “hidden”, they will “come out” and in fact “sprout” as written in Hosea 2:23; “And I shall sow her for Myself in the earth, and I shall have compassion on her who had not obtained compassion. And I shall say to those who were not My people, „You are My people,‟ while they say, „My Elohim!‟

4. Though the “sons of the bitter herbs” are “sick” from the sin and slavery, they will be “tried and surrendered” to יהוה and will be “yielded” vessels to Him.

106

Page 107: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

UNCIRCUMCISED MOUTHAnd Mosheh said before יהוה, “See, I am of uncircumcised lips, and

why would Pharaoh listen to me?” (Exodus 6:30)Twice in this chapter of Exodus, Moses asks why would Pharaoh listen to him, seeing that he has “uncircumcised lips”. This phrase, “arel saphah” in the Hebrew, really has two meanings. 1. “arel” means “uncircumcised” or “one who stammers as with a

foreskin over his lips” or 2. “one who has a foreskin on his ears and cannot receive divine

instruction”. This is where the phrase “uncircumcised heart” also comes from. Now, “saphah” means “speech” or “lip”, as in the “lip”, “rim” or “border” of a vessel.

s words in Matthew: And calling the crowd near, He said to’יהושעthem, “Hear and understand: “Not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man, but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” (Matthew 15:10-11) If we do not speak the right words we can also be seen a having an uncircumcised mouth. 107

Page 108: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

MOSES AS GODSo יהוה said to Mosheh, “See, I have made you an elohim to Pharaoh,

and Aharon your brother is your prophet. (Exodus 7:1)Each person has his/her place or grade. In our story, Pharaoh, the recipient is on the bottom rung. He listens to Aaron, the prophet. Aaron, the expounder, is called to listen to Moses and speak forth that which has been given to him. Moses, the lawgiver, stand in the place of the Almighty, discern His divine will and words, and inform his brother what he is to say and do. It would take ten plagues to convince the Pharaoh to send the Hebrews out of Egypt, which was a polytheistic culture that worshiped many false gods, including everything from bugs to Pharaoh himself. Each plague isolated and exposed a false deity as powerless to stop the work of יהוה 's judgment.

108

Page 109: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

WHEN PHARAOH SPEAKSAnd יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying, “When Pharaoh

speaks to you, saying, ‘Show a miracle for yourselves,’ .. (Exodus 7:8-9)From verse 9 we learn that this miracle of turning the rod into a serpent was not meant to be performed at the initiative of Moses or Aaron, but at the request of Pharaoh. What was the point of this? Was it to get them to believe in יהוה? That hardly makes sense since the wise men and the magicians of Egypt were able to do the very same thing although Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods. Yet the text indicates that Pharaoh’s heart grew hard and nothing seemed to come of the episode. We are still left with the question, “Why would Pharaoh ask for a miracle?” Was he trying to step into their faith? Or was he hoping to prove his superiority? We must remember 40 years ago, this was also Moses’s home. Assuming this was a different Pharaoh, he could possibly have been like a step-brother to Moses.

109

Page 110: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

MAGICIANSIn the story of Joseph and the dreams of Pharaoh, it was the magicians who first attempted to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. There are a lot of similarities between the two events. The Hebrew has the advantage over the Egyptian magicians• Something is swallowed

Sheaves and cows in Pharaoh’s dreams A staff in Aaron’s case

• The situation comes about as a result of Pharaoh’s fears The Pharaoh is anxious about his dreams: And it came to be in

the morning that his spirit was moved, and he sent and called for all the magicians of Mitsrayim and all its wise men. And Pharaoh related to them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them for Pharaoh. (Genesis 41:8)

The Pharaoh is worried about the Israelites: and he said to his people, “See, the people of the children of Yisra’ĕl are more and stronger than we, ..shall be when fighting befalls us, that they shall join our enemies and fight against us, and shall go up out of the land.” (Exodus 1:9-10) 110

Page 111: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

THE MESSAGEWhat is the point of these parallels? It has been suggested that the miracles in our Exodus story were not about establishing faith; but just as the intention of the dreams was to convey a message, so these miracles would bring a message. And what could it be? Well the prophet Ezekiel describes Pharaoh as a great serpent, ruling over everything. The serpent wanted to swallow up the weak, thus picturing Israel under the bonds of slavery. This is where we see the signs come into play. The signs show the TRUE strength and power of the serpent. The rod in Aaron’s hand is like a dried up stick, but it transforms into a living being, one capable of confronting Pharaoh, the serpent. The rod is the people of Israel coming to life! What happens next? Aaron’s rod swallows up the rods of the Egyptians! The pride and the strength of the Egyptians will be overtaken! It is a message and a prophecy! The sons of Israel are destined to overcome the world! And it can happen in a moment!

111

Page 112: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

DANIELIn the book of Daniel we have a third mention of the Egyptian magicians versus a Hebrew. As for these four young men, Elohim gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. And Dani’ĕl had understanding in all visions and dreams. … And in any word of wisdom and understanding about which the sovereign examined them, he found them ten times better

than all the magicians, the astrologers, who were in all his reign. (Daniel 1:17-20)

Daniel interprets the dream of Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2:1-3) which is about four kingdoms, the last one being the Kingdom of Heaven which will defeat all other kingdoms and rule the world!

“And in the days of these sovereigns the Elah of the heavens shall set up a reign which shall never be destroyed, nor the reign pass on to other people – it crushes and puts to an end all these reigns, and it

shall stand forever. (Daniel 2:44)This is a divine vision. It takes us beyond what we are seeing with our eyes in this world 112

Page 113: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

ENCOURAGEMENTThe Egyptians had the most powerful kingdom in the world. The Israelites were just a bunch of slaves, disheartened and miserable. Pharaoh was the great serpent of the world. However, there is a time that the great serpent is destined to be swallowed up!

And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his

messengers were thrown out with him. (Revelation 12:9)And he seized the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound

him for a thousand years, (Revelation 20:2)While the signs that Moses was given to perform were a message to Pharaoh, they also provided the people of Israel with encouragement:• The sign of the rod – that they would come alive and “swallow up” Egypt! (Egypt

is called “tanniyn” (serpent and crocodile) in Isaiah 51:9, Ezra 29:3 and Ezra 32:2.)• The sign of the leprous hand – their Elohim could heal any disease• The sign of the Nile turning to blood – the Nile, also seen as a god, was the life of

Egypt. When it turned to blood, the Egyptians would have seen it as the death of a god. 113

Page 114: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

SIDE NOTESo Dani’ĕl went to Aryok, whom the sovereign had appointed to destroy the wise ones of Babel. He went and said this to him, “Do not destroy the wise

ones of Babel. Bring me in before the sovereign, and I shall show the interpretation to the sovereign.” (Daniel 2:24)

As a reward to Daniel for his interpretation, he was made a ruler over Babylon AND placed in charge of all its wise men (including the magicians). The book of Daniel is filled with prophetic revelation, including Daniel’s own dreams and visions of future kingdoms, the tribulation, and the anti-messiah. Daniel may have shared some of what he learned with the wise men and the magicians? Is there any evidence of this? How about this story in the Gospels?

And יהושע having been born in Bĕyth Lehem of Yehudah in the days of Herodes the sovereign, see, Magi from the East came to Yerushalayim, saying,

“Where is He who has been born Sovereign of the Yehudim? For we saw His star in the East and have come to do reverence to Him.” (Matthew 2:1-2)

Who are the magi? They are astrologers, magicians, or wise men from the east…that is from Babylon 114

Page 115: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

SERPENTSo Mosheh and Aharon went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, as יהוה commanded. And Aharon threw his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the practisers of witchcraft. And they, the magicians of Mitsrayim, also did so with their magic. And they, each one, threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But the rod of Aharon swallowed up their rods. (Exodus 7:10-12)Two different words are used for “serpent” in these verses. First we see the word “tanniyn”, (Strong’s #8577) used in verses 9, 10 and 12. Tanniyn is translated as “serpent” or “crocodile”. In verse 15 Torah uses the word “nachash”. Strong’s translates “nachash” as “serpent” or “snake”. “Nachash” literally means “shining one” because it resembles burnished metal. “Nachash” is the root word in “nekhoshet” (bronze or copper). The Hebrew sources point to the fact that “nachash” is “serpent” or “shining one” and not snake. Crocodiles were elohim (mighty ones) in Egypt and the deity of the Nile River. יהוה sent a clear message to Pharaoh, He would judge the elohim of Mitzrayim and consume them as Aaron’s rod would consume the false elohim (serpents) of Pharaoh’s magicians. 115

Page 116: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

WATER INTO BLOODAnd Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as יהוה had said. ..” And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, “Say to Aharon, ‘Take your rod and stretch out your hand over the waters of Mitsrayim, over their streams, over their rivers, over their ponds, and over all their pools of water, that they become blood. And there shall be blood in all the land of Mitsrayim, both in wooden and in stone containers.’ ..(Exodus 7:13-25)Hapi was the god of the Nile. All the water of the flowing Nile turned into blood for seven days! It was a supernatural miracle. Note: Messiah's first miracle was turning water into wine (John 2:1-11). The waters turned to blood here included the streams and rivers (“nahar” and “ye‟or” = flowing waters, living waters), the ponds (“agam” = stagnant waters or “strongholds”) and their pools (“mikvah” = cleansing waters or “hope”). Reservoirs or “dam” (#1818) refers to “blood-guilt” for the blood of the Israelite male children shed by them, as they were thrown into the river (waters). 116

Page 117: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

117

FROGS.. I am smiting all your border with frogs. “And the river shall swarm

with frogs, which shall go up and shall come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants, .. and the frogs shall come up on you and on your people and on all your

servants.” ’ ..(Exodus 8:2-5)The attack of frogs was an attack on Heka (Heqt) the toad goddess, wife of Khnum who was goddess of the land. Hekawas also the goddess of resurrection and procreative power. Frogs were consecrated to Osiris and were the symbol of inspiration. Frogs and toads were very sacred to the Egyptians. If anyone killed a frog, even unintentionally, the sin was punishable by death. Frogs represent unclean or foul spirits, as in Revelation 16:13-14: And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, as frogs, for they are spirits of demons, doing signs, which go out to the sovereigns of the entire world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of the Almighty. Again, Pharaoh’s magicians duplicated this plague יהוהbut could not make it go away. This plague too lasted 7 days.

Page 118: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

PINCHING LICE..‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it becomes

gnats in all the land of Mitsrayim.’ ” And they did so, and Aharon stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and it

became gnats on man and beast. ..The magicians then said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of Elohim!” But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened,

and he did not listen to them, as יהוה had said. (Exodus 8:16-19)The plague of gnats was an attack on Geb, “the Great Cackler,” god of earth and vegetation. His representation was that of a goose that was said to have laid the egg that hatched the sun. The royal throne of Egypt was known as the “throne of Geb.” He was the father of Osiris and husband of Nut. Egyptian priests shaved their heads to prevent lice which, if found, would render them unclean. The plague of gnats/lice/fleas stopped all priestly rituals. The Hebrew word here for “gnats” is “ken” (#3654) meaning “stinging gnats” or “pinching lice” they actually “eat your face”.

118

Page 119: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

FIRST THREE PLAQUESThe Children of Israel went through the first three plagues along with the Egyptians. יהוה was showing Israel that the “Blood” was also important to them. The pictures they saw and experienced in the plagues of the frogs (evil spirits) and the stinging gnats were to show them that if they did not accept His gift of salvation and deliverance, their judgment and punishment would be as that of the nations. NOTE: Pharaoh’s magicians could not duplicate this plague of gnats, or lice. They declared this to be the “Finger of Elohim”. With that “Finger” יהוה wrote the two “tablets of the Testimony” in stone and as יהושע said in “But if I cast out demons by the finger of Elohim, then the reign of Elohim has come upon you. (Luke 11:20)

119

Page 120: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

INSECTS.. “Let My people go, so that they serve Me. .. I am sending swarms of flies on you and your servants, ..“And I shall put a distinction between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall be.” ’ .. the land was ruined because of the swarms of flies. (Exodus 8:20-24)Here יהוה made a distinction between clean and unclean, holy and unholy. A separation between what was Egypt (the world), with all its idolatry, and what was holy to God. The plague of flies was an attack on Khepfi, who was the god of insects. Included in the same plague was the beetle, a scarab, which was the emblem of Re (Ra), the sun god. Their sun god had now become detestable to them. In Hebrew we read that “arob” (#6157) are “swarms of flies” specifically “gad-flies” or “horse-flies” that suck blood. A “fly” singular which is “zebub” (#2070) is used with Ba‟al in Matthew 10 & 12 and Luke 11 referring to satan as “the lord of the flies”.

120

Page 121: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

LIVESTOCK..“Let My people go, so that they serve Me.. the hand of יהוה is on your livestock in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on

the cattle, and on the sheep – a very grievous pestilence. ..And יהוה did this word on the next day, and all the livestock of Mitsrayim died, but of the livestock of the children of Yisra’ĕl, not one died. (Exodus 9:1-6)

This fifth plague struck Apis who was the bull god. His counterpart was Hathor, the cow goddess. We’re told in the Hebrew that this was a “ma‟od kabed deber”, or an “exceedingly great plague”. The word used here for plague, “deber” (Strong’s #1698) is from the root word “debar” (#1696) meaning “the word” or “that which is spoken”. This plague, that was spoken byיהוה , devastated Egypt's economy. It killed their food, their oxen and brought their ability to sustain themselves to a standstill.

121

Page 122: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

BOILS OR BLISTERSAnd יהוה said to Mosheh and Aharon, “Fill your hands with ashes from a furnace and let Mosheh scatter it toward the heavens before the eyes of Pharaoh. “And it shall become fine dust in all the land of Mitsrayim, and it shall cause boils that break out in sores on man and beast in all

the land of Mitsrayim.” ..(Exodus 9:8-12)With no warning to Pharaoh festering boils [broke] out on men and animals throughout the land. This plague was an attack on Thoth (Imhotep),who was the god of medicine, intelligence and wisdom. The Egyptians had several medical deities to whom, on special occasions, they sacrificed humans. They were burnt alive on a high altar, and their ashes were cast into the air, that with every scattered ash a blessing might descend upon the people. In the Hebrew, this is described as boils with blisters (“shekheen” – inflamed boil with “ababu‟ah” – blisters or pustules). This sounds a little like what will happen to those who accept the “mark of the beast” in Revelation.

122

Page 123: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

KEPT ALIVE TO REVEAL יהוהAnd יהוה said to Mosheh, .. for at this time I am sending all My plagues unto your heart, and on your servants and on your people, so that you

know that there is no one like Me in all the earth. “Now if I had stretched out My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth. “And for this reason I

have raised you up, in order to show you My power, and in order to declare My Name in all the earth. (Exodus 9:13-16)

Here יהוה has Moses say that these plagues were sent to change Pharaoh’s heart and to show all Egypt that יהוה is Supreme in all the earth. He also tells Pharaoh that יהוה did this through Moses because, had He done it by His own Hand, all Egyptians would have perished. Elohim further tells Pharaoh that he was given authority by יהוה over Egypt for the sole purpose of showing His power and to declare His Name in all the earth. So much for Pharaoh’s ego.

123

Page 124: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

HAILSTORM“See, tomorrow about this time I am causing very heavy hail to rain

down, such as has not been in Mitsrayim, from the day of its founding until now. “And now send, bring your livestock to safety, and all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down on every man and every beast which is found in the field and is not brought home, and

they shall die.” ’ ..... (Exodus 9:18-33)This was an attack on Nut, who was the sky goddess and the mother of Osiris. The Hebrew word used here is “halak” which indicates that the fire (or “aish”) “walked” along the ground, as with severe lightning. The time of year is confirmed, as we are told that the flax and the barley were smitten as they were in the head, being early crops. The barley and flax were “abib” and it was the beginning of the first month. Pesach would be very soon. And, the wheat and the spelt were spared, as they are late crops.

124

Page 125: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

STAND BEFOREThere was a divine order to how this would happen. We will see that the first nine plagues are divided into three groups of three. The first plague in each group describes a time “in the morning” (baboker) when Moses should “stand” (yatzav) before Pharaoh with his warning:• Plague One (blood) - “Go to Pharaoh in the morning, .. you shall

stand by the river’s bank to meet him. ... (Exodus 7:15)• Plague Four (gnats) - And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Rise early in the

morning and stand before Pharaoh as he comes out to the water, ... (Exodus 8:20)

• Plague Seven (hail) - And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh, .. (Exodus 9:13)

The goal of the first set of three plagues – Prove that He isיהוה ‘Thus said יהוה, “By this you know that I am יהוה. ..(Exodus 7:17)

125

Page 126: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

GO TOIn the second plague of each of the three sets, there is no mention of when (in the morning) or of “standing” before Pharaoh. Instead, we see a different set of common phrases:• Plague Two (frogs) - And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, “Go to Pharaoh and

say to him, ... if you refuse to let them go, see, I am smiting all your border with frogs. (Exodus 8:1-2)

• Plague Five (cattle) And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Go in to Pharaoh and speak to him, ....if you refuse to let them go, and still hold them, see, the hand of יהוה is on your livestock in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the cattle, and on the sheep – a very grievous pestilence. (Exodus 9:1-3)

• Plague Eight (locusts) - And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Go in to Pharaoh, .....if you refuse to let My people go, see, tomorrow I am bringing locusts within your borders. (Exodus 10:1-4)

126

Page 127: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

127

WITHOUT WARNINGEach of the third plagues in the three sets occurs without any prior warning:• Plague Three (lice): And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Say to Aharon,

‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it becomes gnats in all the land of Mitsrayim.’ ” (Exodus 8:16)

• Plague Six (boils): And יהוה said to Mosheh and Aharon, “Fill your hands with ashes from a furnace and let Mosheh scatter it toward the heavens before the eyes of Pharaoh. “And it shall become fine dust in all the land of Mitsrayim, and it shall cause boils that break out in sores on man and beast in all the land of Mitsrayim.” (Exodus 9:8-9)

• Plague Nine (darkness); And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Stretch out your hand toward the heavens, and let there be darkness over the land of Mitsrayim, even a darkness which is felt.” (Exodus 10:21)

Page 128: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

Rav BAZAKRAV BAZAK teaches that each group brings the Egyptians one step closer in coming to know the Hebrew’s Elohim. 1. The aim of the first group of plagues – “in order that you will know

that I am יהוה” has been achieved. It should be added that it was specifically the Egyptians who first needed to be taught about the existence of a transcendental Divine Cause, for – as opposed to other ancient Middle Eastern religions.

2. The second group is meant to prove that not only does יהוה exist, but He is involved in “the land” – in worldly, human affairs, and that He watches over those who fear Him. How can יהוה’s involvement in “the midst of the land,” in worldly affairs, be proven? This set of plagues highlights the distinction – as yet unmentioned – between the Egyptians and the sons of Israel.

3. The third group of plagues gives special expression to the idea that is the only God, for His actions are without precedent in יהוהanything that has ever happened in the world.

128

Page 129: Vaera Greater Exodus, End Times

HARDENEDAnd Pharaoh saw that the rain, and the hail, and the thunder had ceased, yet he sinned again and he hardened his heart, he and his

servants. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the children of Yisra’ĕl go, as יהוה had said through Mosheh. (Exodus

9:34-35)Altogether there are three different Hebrew verbs which our translators have rendered by 'harden' or 'hardened' - ka bad, gashah, and khazag. • The first of these, which occurs in Exodus 7:14; 8:15, 32; 9:7 and 34,

is the weakest of the three, and means to be 'dull' or 'heavy', rather than 'to be hard.'

• The second, which appears in Exodus 7:3 and 13:15, is the stronger term, and means 'to be hard', or, in the Hiphil [a form of Hebrew verbs], 'to make hard.‘

• The third has the most intensive sense, implying fixed and stubborn resolution. It occurs in Exodus 4:21; 7:22; 8:19; 9:35; and elsewhere.

END TIMESRabbi Ralph Messer of Simchat Torah Beit Midrash teaches that we are in the 7000 year today. The 7000 year in scripture is termed: today, “His rest, a Sabbath rest (Hebrews chapter 3-4 etc) the day of the Lord and in that day”. In God’s plan for mankind the Age of Law, the years 2000 to 4000, is when the great Hebrew Torah Sages taught the Torah (God’s teaching and instruction) but did not specifically teach the Messiah. In the Church Age, from the years 4000 to 6000, is when the early Church fathers taught יהושע/Messiah and the Holy Spirit but not the Torah (or the Law/Moses). According to the Biblical Hebrew calendar the year is 5771/2011. There are approximately 271 known missing years, which brings us to the year 6011. In Hebrew understanding, any years passed the 6000 are counted as having entering into the 7000 year. Thus today, we are in the end times, the Age of the Messiah, where Torah and Messiah join together to become one in His people. Since Mount Sinai, there has never been a time like this where the people of יהוה , who are believers in Jesus the Messiah, desire to walk in Torah.

CLEAN AND UNCLEANApostle Paul, exhorts us to choose: Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers (a believer who is not faithful to, or dis-believes Yahweh’s plan). For what partnership have righteousness (a believer who is faithful to Yahweh) and lawlessness (a believer who chooses to violate (by unbelief) God’s laws and teach against them)? And what fellowship has light with darkness? And what agreement has Messiah with Beliyaʽal (worthless or wicked)? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? And what union has the Dwelling Place of Elohim with idols? For you are a Dwelling Place of the living Elohim, as Elohim has said, “I shall dwell in them and walk among them, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.” (Paul quotes Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27.) Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says יהוה, and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you. (Paul quotes Isaiah 52:11; Ezekiel 20:34, 41.) “And I shall be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says יהוה the Almighty.” (Paul quotes 2 Samuel 7:14.) Having, then, these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, perfecting set-apartness in the fear of Elohim. (2 Corinthians 6:14- 7:1) 131

ISAIAH 66Thus said יהוה, “The heavens are My throne, and the earth is My footstool.

Where is this house that you build for Me? And where is this place of My rest? “And all these My hand have made, and all these that exist,” declares Yet to such a one I look: on him who is poor and bruised of spirit, and“ .יהוהwho trembles at My Word. …“For by fire and by His sword יהוה shall judge

all flesh, and the slain of יהוה shall be many – those who set themselves apart and cleanse themselves at the gardens after ‘One’ in the midst, eating flesh of pigs and the abomination and the mouse, are snatched

away, together,” declares יהוה. (Isaiah 66:1-17)Many desire the righteous ways that honor יהוה , but at the same time may be walking, living and eating in ways that defile His Temple (in us), the place He desires to dwell. May we heed the following words of יהוה “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before Me,” declares יהוה, “so your seed and your name shall stand. “And it shall be that from New Moon to New Moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,” declares יהוה. (Isaiah 66:22-23)
