What about Casual Drinking?

1Th 5:21-23 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil. (23) Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What about ―Use a Little Wine‖?

1Ti 5:23 NKJV No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.

1. Timothy had only been drinking water. (Known to be notoriously bad – ―do not drink the water‖)

2. Because of his ailment Timothy was instructed to add a little wine to his water. (Not for the enjoyment of the wine, but for the medicinal quality.)

3. Timothy had been reluctant even to use alcohol as a medicine.

4. Absolutely no justification given for ―Casual Drinking.‖

Priests of Purity Christians are a Royal Priesthood

1Pe 2:9 NKJV But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Rev 1:5-6 ESV and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (6) and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Priests of Purity Why Not Desire Purity?

Eph 5:25-27 NKJV Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, (26) that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, (27) that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

Priests of Purity Why Not Desire Purity?

Rev 7:14-17 NKJV And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (15) Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. (16) They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; (17) for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Pro 20:1 NKJV Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.
