You are the light of the world.
Mission San Luis Rey ParishCatholic Faith Community
A Note from Fr. Vince
Jesus says today: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden”. Being a Christian and Franciscan
means that we are committed to shine forth as men and women of compassion,
care, and love. See the bulletin for Fr. Vince’s complete message.
Entrance AntiphonO come, let us worship God
and bow low before the God who made us,
for he is the Lord our God.
(Psalm 95 (94):6-7)

Ushers
We are the light of the world; our light breaks forth like the dawn; our
light shines in the darkness; our light reflects
generosity and justice. Good stewards know they are the lamp, and Christ is
the flame that, through them, illuminates the
earth.
A Stewardship Thought
The heart of collaboration is seeking to understand the needs and desires of
another; collaboration is all about relationships and respect for each other.

Communion AntiphonLet them thank the Lord
for his mercy, his wonders for the children of men,
for he satisfies the thirsty soul, and the hungry he fills with
good things.
(Psalm 107 (106):8-9)

A Note from Fr. Vince
“We need to protect all our brothers and sisters of all faiths, including Muslims, who have lost family, home, and country. They are children of God and are entitled to be treated with human dignity. We believe
that by helping to resettle the most vulnerable, we are living out our Christian
faith as Jesus has challenged us to do.”Taken from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. See back of bulletin for the full statement.

What are we doing to shine Christ’s light on the hungry, the homeless and others most in need of God’s mercy? How do we exercise good stewardship over the light of Christ that burns within each of us?
Stewardship Thought
Francis saw everything through the lens of relationship and treated all with great respect.
All in creation were ‘brother and sister’ to Francis. Francis experienced God as a Holy Relationship in the Trinity which he often called the ‘most high
Trinity and holy Unity.’

Today’s Gospel Just so, your light must shine
before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify
your heavenly Father."

World Day for Consecrated Life
Please pray for all those who have made commitments in the consecrated life, and be sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be inspired
by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God's gift of their vocation.
Reading from Today’s Mass If you remove from your midst oppression, false accusation
and malicious speech; if you bestow your bread on the
hungry and satisfy the afflicted;
then light shall rise for you in the darkness…
Isaiah 58:7-10
