Federation Web Site

• We’re seeing about 1500 page views per day at present: significant use

• That has been pretty stable for 11 months, although federation itself has grown

• Perhaps people use the site when they’re joining, but not afterwards?

Membership

• Many members have both IdP and SP entities

• may be for testing or for collaboration

• Half of members have no participation

• Good awareness, bad deployment?

• Planning on gateway use only?

• “Gateway members” beginning to show up

Page 11: 20080117: Technical Statistics: What they tell us, and what they don't

Certificates

• JANET SCS being widely used

• Significant number of entities offline

• Small number of IdPs “just broken”

• No way to survey SP trust certificates

Page 13: 20080117: Technical Statistics: What they tell us, and what they don't

Software

• Shibboleth dominates

• Almost all 1.3: only 3×1.2, 2×2.0

• If other software supported large scale federation, more people might use it.

• Need to determine how much to let technical holes in other software hold us back
