If two technologies have tremendously impacted the world, then AI and Big Data make it into the list. With so much potential, both these technologies can bring a paradigm change in the way businesses operate and to a greater extent, they have been able to make this impact. AI or Artificial Intelligence is already making big, from being used to create applications that automate the function, to creating a complex algorithm which can impact the way we live. One of the major impacts of AI and Big Data is seen in the healthcare sector. There has been a staggering increase in the demand for AI certification programs and big data training amongst individuals and even working professionals who want to make big in the world of technology are upskilling themselves or opting for this course after completion of their graduation. But, when it comes to the use cases of AI and Big Data, then its impact is not merely felt in the technology domain, but even in other sectors, inclusive of healthcare.

How are AI and Big data influencing the global health improvement work?

As per the Deloitte survey, around 63% of companies are now employing machine learning in their business. Also, the market value of AI in the healthcare market is expected to reach $6.6 billion by 2021, and this is going to create a huge demand for AI and Big data experts. When we talk about AI, then it's an inclusive term which has machine learning, and deep learning as an integral part of it, so acquiring skills in this domain is going to help you become a part of one of the most sought after skilled individuals by the company. Shifting back our focus to acquiring knowledge about AI and how it is used in healthcare development.

Here is a brief overview of how big data and AI can prove beneficial for the healthcare sector:

1. Use of chatbots to help patients2. Diagnosing patient and providing preliminary aid3. Analysis of image data to assess the molecular structure in the drug discovery4. Personalizing the data

Let us assess this in detail:

● Improving Diagnosis- The objective of medical technology is to improve the process of diagnosis, and at the same time, it has to reduce the probability of error. In the last few years, AI and ML have deeply impacted and improved the diagnostic accuracy of medicines. As per the research of Nig Market Research, the AI medical market is expected to surpass $18.12 billion by 2025. Both Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are more accurate and precise in detecting anomalies as compared to humans.

An example that we would like to highlight here is the study done at Stanford University. The researchers at the University created an algorithm to assess the chest-x-rays which Is as accurate as radiologists are, and this algorithm should be able to provide the assessment report quickly.

● Natural language processing- Interpreting what humans think and work in the manner same as humans has been the goal of AI since 1950. Natural Language Processing is the field that helps the AI experts to achieve the same. There are several uses of the same in the field of healthcare.

For example, NLP can be used to create, classify and document the clinical report of the patient. NLP systems are powerful enough to assess the unstructured clinical reports and then draw inferences from the same. Well, for this, the NLP system needs to work on a lot of data and information

● Robotic Process Automation- As compared to the other forms of Ai, his one is rather inexpensive. It is easy to program and is transparent in action. It involves the use of computer programs on servers. It works on a combination of business rules, workflow, and presentation layer integration along with information systems to work like a semi-intelligent user. This can prove helpful even in the healthcare system for the processes like updating patient records, billing, prior authorization etc.

● Physical robots- Another popular use of AI has been seen in the form of physical robots. The USA approved the use of surgical robots. These robots assist the surgeons during surgery, let them create precise and minimal invasion incisions. Some of the common processes in which these surgical robots find use are prostate surgery, head and neck surgery, gynaecology surgery.
