WHAT IS A NATIVE CLOUD DRIVE ?

The SME Cloud Drive’s bring the Cloud directly into a users desktop by providing a native drive mapping for files located on a remote service. To users, accessing files is akin to clicking on a local drive to access a file. In fact double clicking a file on the Cloud Drive will open and load it into the associated application where it can then be edited and saved back to the remote file storage.

Is it WebDav ? No, it is a native drive implementation for Windows and Mac OS. Unlike WebDav, which is slow (and almost unusable on the Mac OS) the Cloud Drive’s are optimized for performance

The drives have also been optimized to also deal with situations such as the laptop being put to sleep in the middle of data transfer or the network becoming unavailable etc.

The drives can be connected into the back end storage or file based infrastructure as required either from the existing SME connector based architecture which is comprehensive and already supports over 35 Storage Clouds or by a new custom connector which we can design and implement as needed.
