ICT CLUBS FOR STUDENTS The main aim is to increase ICT

awareness in the underserved communities

Train hardware and software technicians Give members the opportunity to

explore the various fields in ICT Give discount for services at ICT centers Organize yearly National ICT forum Organize global ICT forum for all

member countries

ONE COMPUTER PER HOME Will target under served senior high

school, college/university students and teachers, community members.

Will raise funds to buy and donate at least 500 new low power PCs & portable solar systems/year

It will be competive and need baseStudents with the best results in Science

and technology subjects will compete to receive donations

ICT & RENEWABLE ENERGY RESEARCH INSTITUTE The aim is to establish a network of ICT &

renewable energy research institutes in West Africa.

Create a network of science and technology researchers in West Africa

Research and develop adaptable renewable energy solutions for use in rural areas

Create a Technology/knowledge transfer platform

It will provide professional IT and business related training, consultancy and research services to the public.

KEYS TO SUCCESS Need the ability to attract and RETAIN

qualified personnel, volunteers & donors

Strive to be perceived in the marketplace as an ICT specialist serving under-served students, teachers, and communities in West Africa.

Establishing trust with potential clients as a non-profit devoted to their cause

Create win win partnerships with governments, organizations, public and private companies

BUSINESS STRATEGY To develop energy efficient ICT solutions using

innovative technologies that will significantly impact the growth and long-term sustainability of the organization

Energy We will be implementing custom and innovative energy

solutions using Solar and wind energy to power individual computer systems, computer labs and our ICT Research Institute

The People We will conduct regular free workshops and seminars to

educate the people about efficient and sustainable energy solutions.

Management The management will build upon the professionalism,

expertise and several years of industry experience of members to implement our strategy

researchers, company owners living abroad to share their knowledge and experiences

LEGAL STATUS Registered in New York State as a not-

for-profit corporation. Board members will meet every month

to develop policies, create company documentations, plan and develop strategies to raise funds to implement projects.

The Foundation will be legally registered in each country in West Africa as a national non-profit foundation.

Why? (West Africa – 16 countries) – SL & Niger (DHI 2009) No standard policy for the use of ICT in schools Very low rate of science and technology graduates PC & internet penetration is the lowest in the world

Mission The Mission is to promote and increase the penetration ratio of science,

information technology and computer science education to under-served students, teachers and communities in West African countries
