green CarbonTervita has partnered with Jacobi in order to provide customers with not only a better quality carbon, but also the ability to reactivate “spent” carbon in an environmentally responsible yet cost effective manner. The process begins with transferring “spent” carbon to Tervita, where the carbon is cleaned from the tanks and shipped to Jacobi in order to begin the reactivation process. The adsorbed organics on the carbon are thermally decomposed. The resulting gases are fed through an afterburner and a treatment system to allow emission to atmosphere in accordance with most stringent environmental regulations. Recycling by thermal reactivation is an environmental responsible method that helps to reduce CO2 emissions over the activated carbon and contributes to a sustainable use of the world’s resources.
