Since the invention of the internet, media convergence has had an increasing amount of impact on today’s society. This impact will seemingly continue to be more and more important as the technology advances.

Soon, consumers will own televisions with 3-D technology, computers will contain facial recognition software, and technologies will exist that are unheard of, even today.

Libraries are forced to maintain a grasp on the challenges posed by new media to advance and keep their niche in this ever-changing world of convergence culture.
