NITH is a private IT University located in the middle of Oslo. The school offers bachelor courses in information technology and master classes in information systems. Students may choose between the following majors: programming, game programming, game design, e-business, digital marketing, 3d graphics, mobile app development

The 3D program offers courses in basic to advanced 3D Studio Max modeling, 3D animation, Optimizing and structure, Architectural visualization, and Rendering, Lighting and Compositing. In addition to these courses, we also offer a course in 3D for mobile augmented reality. All teachers have first-hand experience from their extensive work in the industry. They workboth at the school and in their respective

businesses. They also cover different segments of the industry from visualization to game development.

V-Ray was first chosen for the Architec-tural Visualization course. The course covers both theoretical and technical aspects of Architectural visualization, and V-Ray is an important component when it comes to quality.

The students would typically render the architecture with V-Ray and map the image into photography where the real building is going to be built. V-Ray is a brilliant renderer when it comes to photorealism and to simulating correct light. Within the Rendering, Lighting and Compositing course students explore even further the many options V-Ray has.

I had no experience with V-Ray before I started to teach it, so it was quite new for me too. I was surprised by the quality and the fact that V-Ray is a high-end renderer that is actually much easier to set up compared to many other engines. When you get into the logic of V-Ray, all things start to make sense - materials, lights and environment

works as a whole just as in reality. It is also easy and most of all fun to teach it, especially when you hear the “wow” and see the surprise on the faces of students seeing a nicely rendered image. Last but not least, I am very happy with the wonderful feedback and help from Chaos Group when it comes to support and attitude.
